On self-titled, they serve up ten hefty bangers and a double helping of mosh-worthy mash for you to lap up; simply put, this is the sound of a band five albums in simply nailing it.
It has everything you’d hope for from a self-titled Pop-punk album and secures the band’s place in the genre’s history books.
Perhaps the ethos of self-deprecation throughout the album works as a protective wall, so it’ll hurt a little less when the critics highlight the holes and poke at the frayed edges of this solid but snoozy offering.
My first exposure to Neck Deep, and gotta say, some insanely solid pop punk tunes! This album is not something that will reinvent the wheel or anything like that, but it very simply just delivers some bangers for you pop punk lovers such as myself. If you’re not into that sound, you prob wont get much out of this one overall. But still, I had a fun time with this one, excited to go more into the ND band :D.

Modern pop punk done well! Neck Deep may not explore any super unique or impressive styles on this album, and it does feel a bit repetitive, however the relatively short run time and consistently solid tracks make for a fun, catchy listen with little to complain about. When they sang "Don't wanna be an American idiot" I felt that.
Not new at all but Neck Deep's eponymous record is energetic enough to keep you around. The mid-2000's pop-punk composition does the job fine and it is a good nostalgia wave to get splashed by.
So yeah not a memorable record by all means but everyone's performance sells it. Even if it lacks memorable music or personality, it's energetic, foot tapping and head-banging.
we need more punks and we need more bricks!
I liked the previous album a little more than this one but it's not bad. I appreciate them going back to their roots in the scene but some songs were safe and felt a little too familiar
