She neeeeeeeds to only do southern trap/Memphis cause this shit is NOT working. Same shitty flow on 90 percent of the tracks and the tracks that are actually solid Bk doesn't even add that much to it.
Majorly disappointing because i heard one of her new single and 'the scythe' and she was great.
That is a Malcolm Todd album, can be a little samey but the vibes are there.
Very punk, which usually isn't my thing but i like what he's saying, definitely Staples most direct album. I do think the album at times can be a little boring and basic unfortunately, what he is saying is very direct and i appreciate that especially at a time like this but it doesn't make for the most thought provoking experience, especially when instrumentally it's mostly standard punk that doesn't do a lot that's new. It does have moments of greatness though.
Good vibes, great production, a lot of the songs are pretty chill so they feel like they should be 2 mins but overstay their welcome a bit, but it's a easy listen, it's not much of a rap album, lot's of singing and guitars, i try not to get caught up in genre labels but yea. Also I'm not sure of i love the mix on a lot of the songs, it's not bad but maybe too reverbed?
So clearly inspired, very talented and very well made, the accuracy that's they've replicated these sounds are kinda phenomenal i already know old-heads are gonna fucking love this. It kinda sounds like they even recorded this on old equipment i mean it just fits so well in that 70's and 80's sounds, even if it's not my favorite sound in the world it clearly take talent to make stuff like this. I just feel like they would've been super famous if they came out in th ... read more
Super technically good as expected, Thundercat has a known vibe and here he delivers that but also a bit more than usual i feel, probably one of his best, maybe his best, only time will tell.
Out of all of the different little projects she has dropped this is EASILY the worst, it's just not very good unfortunately, not a single good song.
Solid EP, very dreamy, similar vibes at times to 'Cigarettes after sex' , got introduced to them from Kevin abstracts album and would love to hear a full length album hopefully this year.
Same kinda vibes as MIKE's 'Pinball' tapes which is dope cause i really liked those albums, i think SURFGANG makes perfect beast for these guys, there's a specific vibe here that feels pretty mixtapey but is fire nonetheless
Very cinematic at times, a little bloated but i would say there are no skips, Yeat's obviously grown as an artist, he's made a sound for himself that he still excels at, he's still not afraid to experiment and you can tell he's confident in his sound, it's not his best album in my opinion but compared to some of the other ones it a lot more concise in vision, sound and overall presentation, similar to 2093. It's also more chill than his last album, less bangers and ... read more
Super fun, especially the second half, doesn't overstay its welcome at all, i actually wanted more, nothing wrong with a shorter project like this, i really wanna hear more all these guys together, production especially was fantastic.
I think its solid and about what expected sound-wise with some solid production.
It's a small step up form the last record and Draft Day has improved which is good.
It's good, Bruno Mars is clearly in his bag here but silk sonic kinda perfected this style and no efforts were taken to shake the sound up, he's simply retreading a similar style that is good but not as good as done before, I'm sure the Vegas shows will make him an ungodly amount of money though.
Very much so gives i major in music, a lot of the album is pretty quiet, not literally but there's not a lot of layers so it's pretty chill, in my opinion thought it makes it feel a little empty at times. The album breaths but with shallow breath. I think she tries very hard to sound deep, and she does have some of the musical talent to back that up, but idk i think being a nepo baby probably deprives you of the life experiences to actually be deep.
Seems like Keem's really matured over the past few years, the albums more introspective looking at his upbringing and the things he's been dealing with recently, it lends to some good writing, this is mixed with more fun tracks making the album a bag of different sounds I think all blend together in a satisfying matter. I can't pretend however that a 30 minute project after years of waiting as a fan with little singles isn't disappointing, the concept of the album also would ... read more
Harkens back to sounds from his older albums except he really seems to be in love this time, I came for some toxic/sad music Brent dammit. Really lush production on here, sounds damn good, but i really wish Mike Dean, Tommy Rush etc. were on this whole thing cause they easily provide the best production.
Its mostly electronic instrumentals, not super my thing but i enjoyed it. I appreciate him trying stuff, this definitely sounds like an album AOTY would like, that is neither derogatory or positive.
I would say it was worth the wait, there's a lot of different vibes here, this definitely feels like a culmination of J. Cole's work, a lot of tracks here and they don't sound like filler which is awesome for how long fans had to wait, you can tell a lot of time went into this, not just from the writing but there are some expensive sounding beats here. I like that it's not filled to the brim with features, just a few to keep it exiting, i gotta say tho disc 1 is a lot more ... read more
