Big up and comer in the udg scene here, as i see more and more of his name pop up in conversations now, as well as the fact hes collaborated with an artist I think is personally better (bandinista) made me tempted to give this a try, and so i did. I will say i was ever so slightly disappointed, yet at the same time I wasnt that shocked seeing as he is only just starting out and has a long journey to go, not only in terms of quality of music, but even just the sound quality and mixing. It has a ... read more
When you take the 2 most captivating rappers in griselda at the moment, and you make them make a collab project, you'd expect undeniable heat, however though that shines in places, such as how well the fairly diverse (as far as boldy goes) production compliments their voices and rapping so much, its overall nothing crazy of an effort and they have a few higher regarded things from last year. Like Biggie Did is an amazing track, for example, but songs like Only One let it down slightly, ... read more
Oddly more generic as I expected it to turn out, seeing as lil yachty has definitely not been shy to experiment in the past, so i do wish there was slightly more of that on here, but still its a pretty solid label release here, really putting the shine on quite a few fairly small artists, as well as also having insane moments of production to compliment lil yachty - the leader of the group. No matter how many different vibes it manages to capture and the amount of artists, it is slightly ... read more
Literally just a sonically more impressive version of no service, with a few very good features which make for a few things to be found interesting in this arrangement of repetitive and incredibly safe songs. It literally feels like im listening to a watered down version of untiljapan, and I really ain't suprised he decided to chuck on keep steady onto here, as its one of his few songs with charm and uniqueness. I was more excited for this than for his past project, yet I was met with a ... read more
Pretty good drop from dc here, very different from his last project, yet definitely a much better drop in pretty much every sense of the word, from the whole aesthetic of it, as well as the production and it having more rapping moments, seeing as rebirth was very melodic. It starts with a noisy, yet positive and cinematic bang, and that honestly keeps going with the next few songs, and it has some similarities to that of lucy bedroque and others in my opinion. It has some changes in mood as ... read more
Never listened to a bruno mars album before, which feels oddly illegal, yet this didn't really IMPRESS ME IMPRESS ME, but for the fact it appeals to a wide and very very safe audience, it is pretty unique, with some heavy Latin influence. It truly lives up to its name, as all he really talks about throughout is his yearning and care for this mystery girl of his, and its incredibly consistent at doing that, with the generic stuff and overly melodic hooks really scratching that itch in my ... read more
Worryingly low rated considering the fun and diverse nature of this tape, regardless of the fact it COULD be seen as disappointing here and there due to the actual features on here. Feels like a sort of sub release of jackboys (2.5 if you will) however travis did NOT have the best song on here, which does bother me but I hope its all just the fact he has been doing features lately.
The title track, as well as SEOUL GLOW, set the tone quite well with instrumentals, and i like the idea but to be ... read more
Honestly, pretty happy I did NOT pay for this, as though it was definitely solid, its not really worth it considering I will probably only go back to a select few tracks, especially when its not even on streaming platforms which just makes it extra awkward. It is pretty much on par to the first installment or "charge" however it is much longer, so its hard to judge in that sense, and though everyone talks about how angry he is on here, I am yet to hear him bring the same vibe was ... read more
See, when I go back to this, im more suprised again by the sudden change in sound on freewave, however maybe it was for the better, as though it isnt very far off, I would say this project is worse. The dark and atmospheric mood really reflects his voice, as he sounds truly engulfed by all the drugs he raps about, and though thats obviously nothing but a bad thing, its a very interesting and haunting representation of his state. Its very consistent, with no bad songs and though there is some ... read more
I had many different thoughts while listening to this project, and they are truly all over the place - just like this album in general. Firstly, this just feels like a more unique and versatile version of rest in bass, however its just simply not as good, and the NOISY bits are even louder than RIB which is impressive and also borderline insanity. Then, the kissing adlib needs to stop because why have I heard it about 100+ times, not to mention the fact that NO I DONT WANT TO BANG. Lastly, why ... read more
After life is beautiful dropped around the same time last year, I honestly did have some hype, as I have always seen Larry June as good and respectable, and curren$y definitely has his moments, so I saw the potential, especially when paired with alchemist production, but in the end, it sounded like any other West coast album nowadays and had pretty much 0 standouts unfortunately. As I kind of said earlier, i do prefer larry, however it ended up feeling like had much less time in the showcase on ... read more
After many years of waiting eagerly for any sign of life from keem, this has ALREADY kind of slowly been on the decline in terms of interest and I fear it may be something that came and went for me, similar to the fall off, however the attention this garnered from me was undeniably stronger and the best moments may prove me wrong, as he has lots of solid stuff on here.
No security is alright, a short track which sets the tone for what is to come on this audible experience filled with lots of ... read more
Come on autumn, after all his solid projects from the past year or so, i thought he could keep that consistent streak, especially when you see its only 6 short songs in length, however its unfortunately a clear step down from whatever he made before, as even the more unique ideas like a sample of party4u just felt so uninspired and just simple, and its incredibly repetitive in literally like 13 minutes. I have nothing more to say other than the fact it has a cool highlight but the rest is just ... read more
Honestly, I had some hope for this as I LOVED her perfomance on label dinner so much, to the point id say she was the best part of the whole thing, but i dont know what it is about her voice but something annoys me - almost more than anyone else - to the point I struggle to enjoy the album. This is especially a shame seeing as when you look at the effort put into it and how concise it sounds, its definitely there, with captivating and interesting production, as well as a good variety of sounds ... read more
Just as overhated as the feng drop from the same friday, however this one is just much more generic and soulless, he provides nothing different from the soundscape ive heard from him for years. The trippie feature was actually really good, and makes me feel bad as its sad to see it wasted on a boogie, who at the moment is not able to make anything unique or cool, and drops songs like PGD, which is somehow one of the best on here, simply for the fun element of it. The other songs have weak ... read more
Homage junkie 😭✌️✌️ bro interpolated like half of the tracklist.
Nah but on a real note, this truly impressed me, as though it is definitely bloated for what it is, especially as it has dry spells of multiple songs just not being anything special, the highs are itchily good and there isnt any bad songs, with even the features delivering.
Incognito kind of put me off, as i didn't really have any past impressions, so his voice was quite odd and the production was also peculiar, ... read more
No point of this really, all songs were just fine and I have nothing more to say unlike usually. Production and performances were both satisfactory but not something id go back to.
