Brendon Urie‘s first album as the only member. And it’s okay, it has some standouts, and it also has some absolutely awful pieces of garbage. Which means it’s okay, I guess?
The peak dream-pop, the perfect dream-pop, the dream-pop as it should be. This record is both dreamy, ethereal and shoegazy which makes a perfect combination.
So far it’s good. But I think I under appreciate the record. I believe it’s good, but I’m trying to find ways for me to enjoy it more, I just can’t. Hopefully will grow on me. From what I love, are the instrumentals and vocal performances are something else.
Quite a pleasant surprise by the Shins, if I may say. This record doesn’t sound like a debut at all, everything’s on point, James Mercer is doing his best both vocally and lyrically. I liked it, should listen to it more tho, I think I don’t truly see all the different colors it shines in.
