Perhaps this is Pink Floyd's most divisive work. Yes, it definitely feels like a Roger Waters solo record, but I don't care. You may have to sit with it a bit, but The Final Cut is an incredible work of art that grapples with the horrors of war - and the trauma that results from it - with precision, sadness, and dignity. Other Pink Floyd albums might have been more innovative or accessible, but The Final Cut is unlike any other in terms of how intimate and personal it is: it's almost their singer-songwriter record. That might turn people off. I find it brilliant.
