i'm a pretty strong believer that it's our duty, as active listeners, to give projects (especially as expansive and wide-ranging as this) enough time. though still extremely inconsistent, and still doesn’t nearly reach childish gambino’s potential artistic capacity, atavista is a good listen, worth your time, even for those who weren’t fully into 3.15.20. if you hated it upon release, these new versions likely won’t change your mind, but they will alter your perspective.

this project is absolutely insane. unbelievably strong diversification of keef’s talent, each beat is so distinct and each bar hits so much harder than it feels like keef ever has to me. this blew me away, definitely wasn’t giving chief keef his credit before.
