Production is nice but super one note, every single song is structured the same way, the long spoken word interludes are just annoying. There are some highlights but this is definitely pretentious and bloated
Ok the last album had annoying controversy surrounding the rollout but at least that album ended up being good and progressing his sound, what the fuck is this
Am I really alone in thinking this was the best one? The production was way more fun on this album, there was more actually standout production, the first two songs had some pretty passionate performances, there were a few catchy hooks and melodies throughout, the interludes set a cool nighttime dj radio vibe. I mean the album definitely isn't good, unlistenable dogshit like cheetah print and which one definitely isn't fun to listen to and most of the performances between drake and ... read more
Mostly standard Blu & Exile but it just remains true that the average Blu & Exile song is a step above plenty of music out rn
Strangest single of the year, it was absolutely amazing with mach hommy, but with his verse removed it feels empty and underdeveloped. Hopefully that gets sorted out
This cover is gorgeous oh my god. This album feels like a culmination of the ideas What's Your Pleasure and That Feels Good were building, drawing more from the sound of the former and the writing of the latter. Jessie Ware's voice is given the most space to shine and carry tracks on it's own out of these last three projects and I think that was an excellent decision, she just stuns consistently throughout this tracklist. I'd be a bit dishonest with myself if I said I think ... read more
Vocals are pretty great but something about the production is just too bland for words, sounds like it was meant to play during the end credits of a hallmark movie lol. The production on her last album was very good and hopefully the deep cuts of her new album sound more like that because this wasn't really doing much for me.
Longer tracks are amazing, shorter tracks are passable, overall a promising listen that mostly just leaves me wanting more
Something something influences something something Isaac Wood something something good album regardless
It may be very easy to spot the influences going into this album, and at times I'm not sure if it's doing enough to separate from them, but it's very well made and a good time regardless
The original album but if it was even longer and even more expansive and had even more amazing guests and was even better produced and if Destin Conrad stunned vocally even more
