I listened to this album 5 more times tonight and I have concluded that this is by far the best Slint tribute band
Better as a whole than harvest, but there's no particular song that I love on this more than my top 4 on harvest
I really love some of this album, and old man is an amazing song, but there's just a couple of songs that I really really dislike that makes the experience of listening much less enjoyable. For me, this is a case where the whole is not equal to the sum of its parts
East Hastings is such a beautifully haunting track.
I really feel like this and LYSFLATH are like non-identical twins, equally beautiful but for different reasons, F# A# is haunting and apocalyptic, where LYSF is like waves washing against the shore, sometimes peaceful, sometimes violent, but forceful nonetheless.
I really think this version of the album is the best musical arrangement GY!BE ever put out, but so marginally compared to LYSF I cannot seperate them by a quantifiable degree on AOTY
I get he's really corny but this album was a really enjoyably stimulating listen
I don't appreciate the fact that this averages a 56, I would rate it higher just to balance it out but I have to be truthful to myself lol, it's just fun jazz music, what's not to love
Once I can play all of swallow on bass this review may increase but for the time being it will remain at 84
The first 5 song run ending in never catch me is one of my favourite compositions of music by anyone ever
I hate listening to this album so much which makes it amazing art but I rate based off enjoyment
This review is mediated by nostalgia but thats the whole point of me rating is that it's my rating
