Pure class from sage, beautiful soundscapes and meanings. This time production is much heavier than any of his previous works, providing much more hitting drums, making the production sounding more heavy hitting, while still providing beautiful sampling and loops, shaping beautiful instrumentals! Some amazing features from doechii Gunn and Tyler, beautiful singing moments, unbelievable production. Soundscapes in the second half are amazing. Some songs like robbery are way more experimental than expected and that’s what making this album beautiful
This album feels so easy to listen to, every track is beautiful in its own way. Production from uncle al is unmatched, it’s smooth, it’s jazzy sometimes, it’s just beautiful. Rapping from Gibbs is unbelievable, what he did on “Lemon pepper steppers” is just wow. Soundscape on this thing is unbelievable, quite literally the best out of any “Roots” albums, bars are sharp and effective as always, concept of this thing is unmatched, every song is just amazingly produced, rapped over and gave to you as a present! This albums takes a special place in my heart as the best “the Roots” album. Unbelievably beautiful album
