A well produced album with some catchy songs but unfortunately, even though I've now listened to it half a dozen times, I still only remember the songs I heard on the radio 35 years ago. In no way a bad album but there just isn't enough here to make it stand out.
When Worlds Collide is a great track and there are a couple of other decent songs, like Supernova Goes Pop, but otherwise it's not overly memorable.
It feels a bit like everything just blends together and before I knew it I was up to track 11 and didn't really remember anything apart from the afore mentioned two tracks. Nothing particularly bad but not much to recommend.
This was one of the first albums I ever bought. In fact, I bought this and Midnight Oil's 10 ... 1 on the same day. Both on tape...
I still listen to both regularly and whilst INXS obviously had much more success after this album I still think it's one of their best - mainly due to the balance between what they were and what they would become. Classics like The One Thing and Don't Change balanced with the more the more New Wave and Ska inspired tracks.
