ミラクルミュージカル [Miracle Musical] - Hawaii: Part II

Wow. Just wow. This is my new favorite album of all time. It's number one by far. (OKAY I'M GONNA STOP YOU RIGHT THERE ME FROM A YEAR AGO, I KNOW YOU THOUGHT IT WAS A FUNNY JOKE, BUT JESUS CHRIST THAT DID NOT AGE WELL, I'LL LEAVE IT HERE BECAUSE I GUESS IT'S LIKE THE ORIGINAL VERSION OF THE REVIEW, BUT WE NEVER SPEAK OF THIS SECTION AGAIN, IF YOU WANNA READ THE REVIEW, SCROLL TO THE PART WHERE I TALK ABOUT HOW IT'S BEEN A YEAR, BYE) The fact Brad has the audacity to ... read more

Mucho Mango - MUCHO MANGO VOL. 2

I went into this one expecting a lot after the absolute banger of their previous ep. And while it did partially live up to expectations, I don’t think it’s quite as good as that initial project. I feel like besides the standout 2 for me, this ep lacks the same immensely enjoyable energy from Vol. 1. Not to say that this isn’t energetic, it totally goes hard, it’s just that some of the charm has worn off, and I was hoping for a bit more experimentation. Still though, ... read more

I saw this band live at a local venue where I live a few months ago, and I’ve been dying to listen to one of their projects since. Out of every band to play that night, they were by far the most electric and alive and energetic, and their vibe and sound was just so unique. Thankfully, this short little ep delivers on all fronts. I’ll review their other two projects in the coming days, and I’m seeing them live again this Saturday. I really hope this band gets more attention. ... read more

Not much to say that hasn’t already been said. Pretty great debut that obviously pales in comparison to what came after with less good production and vocals, but still pretty great writing and instrumentals here. The guitar goes crazy and I love the more intense, heavier sound here. Especially in Gerard’s early vocals, these sound gut-wrenching. So yeah, pretty cool, but also their worst.

Song Ranking:

For the record, this is my review of SPECIFICALLY the 2005 mix of this album, which IS marginally different to the most widely available version on streaming, that being the 2008 version, the one most people have listened to. If you want my thoughts on the album as a whole and each song, go to my review of the 2008 reissue. Anyways, this marks the relative end of the tally hall ranking. While I still have PLENTY of singles to review, and one or two more projects, I want to focus on some other ... read more

After a 13 year hiatus, BOC returns with one of the greatest comeback albums I’ve heard in a long time. I was skeptical going in on just how much they’d be able to evolve and change their sound, and was slightly worried they’d fall back on the same tropes they’re used to. And while this album does feel distinctly like a BOC project, it doesn’t mean that there is no experimentation being done here. A large sum of these tracks are so sonically different from anything ... read more
