camila doesn't even know what audience she wants to appeal to, resulting in a garbage pile of watered-down alt-pop rip-offs.
also, how is the best song on the project, a solo drake song that didn't even need to be on there
overall in my opinion better than i was expecting it to be, james blake and lil yachty have some clear chemistry when it comes to their music.
for the director's cut, underscores delivers a masterful example of art once again.
another fun project from don, unfortunately this one is kind of a mixed bag for me. i enjoyed most of the songs, but some of them just had qualities about them that just were kind of boring. i wish a project with what seems like a set concept, had a more cohesive sound.
Census Designated is a heavy, mature, movie-like experience that takes a focus on artistic expression— rather than focusing on attention grabbing musical snippets.
If Jane's first record didn't prove her attention to the art, this one solidifies it. She filled this album with a masterful modern rock experience that should not be taken lightly.
Census Designated takes on a much more analogue approach than Frailty, but it fits her just as well as the younger counterpart on the previous ... read more
i personally did not listen to much of Quadeca's work before he made "the big switch" sonically with his previous album "I Didn't Mean to Haunt You", and unfortunately did not put away time to dive into his work after that record released.

I went into this album with a high expectation of greatness especially after the near-masterpiece that was RENAISSANCE. Needless to say, I was a lot more impressed than I initially anticipated.
Beyoncé allowed her texas roots to really shine through on this album, with her mixture of her r&b past and the country themes of this record allowed for a beautiful pop record.
I really enjoyed the radio-esque approach to the skits with both Willie ... read more
my personal album of 2023. i have found every song to be phenomenal (according to my personal standard) and the overarching themes and world building of Wallsocket, MI to be superb.
also, being queer in michigan, a lot of these song's themes resonate with me.

Although some may not care for the lyrical content or glitch-y nature of the production style in this sophomore LP from Ohio artist brakence, this was in the top contenders in 2022 for the pop/alternative music scene for me. Comparing this record to his previous releases shows that he has matured and really honed his style into it's own with this record. The production, as well as the quality/flow of the entire record sonically, is his best in his discography so far. Only problems I have with ... read more
