thriller, beat it, and billie jean is a generational streak holy moly

unfortunately i found the stretch to get to the title track ever so slightly sluggish. baby be mine i found to be pretty damn good, but i do not like the sound of wanna be startin something especially for being 6 minutes long. i also think this girl is mine feels a little silly but not really fully embracing the concept of the song at least in a way that was that engaging or interesting to me. the song didnt really sell me ... read more

Nas's pen game and talent for writing is displayed incredibly through this album. This album's sound and production is timeless and his portrayal of New York and his life paint a very clear picture. Not much to say but great work.

What a transcendent experience. This album's disregarding of and lack of care for conventional structure in favor of just doing whatever the hell it wants paired with some of the best beats and most unique writing you've ever heard makes this a classic. The vibe is so odd but so lovely and iconic and it's just so fun to listen to. Meat Grinder is my go-to but honestly I just kinda see this album as one interconnected experience without any real favorites to pick.

Not only did he release a song that brought the pedo allegations to the forefront after everyone fixated purely on the daughter verse in Meet the Grahams, he did it by beating Drake at his own game and making the catchiest club banger imaginable with the most quotable chants being ... read more

Kendrick Lamar - meet the grahams

What a diabolical track. This is the best diss track of all time. This song entirely transformed the discussion about the beef and sucked the fun of Kendrick's genius play right out the air. This feels like it's written from the perspective of someone who is about to actually murder Drake and is giving his family letters to explain it and hold onto. Unsettling as hell and it just gets worse and worse the further and further you listen to it. Kendrick proves that not only can he be the fun ... read more
