Jack Johnson - Brushfire Fairytales
83

This album is a treat don't get me wrong, I do feel privileged that I got to give it a listen, adding plenty of new music to my rotation. This isn't in between dreams though. Sexy Plexi and Drink the Water have no catchy rhythm or lyricism and were more chores to get through. But the start of this album is something else, not to mention of course his smooth vocals remain charming and fun. But despite some 'misses', it's hard this project low because Jack Johnson ... read more

Jack Johnson - In Between Dreams
95

This might be the best album I've listened to in a long time. The album gets worse as it goes on, with roughly 3 songs towards the end of the album that I didn't enjoy as much, notably Belle and Constellations. Every other song on this album is such a treat. Jack Johnsons voice never stops being soothing, and the tunes are never not catchy. This album makes me emotional, it's fun, it's different, and has the majority of Jack Johnsons BEST songs.

Metro Boomin - HEROES & VILLAINS
NR

No repetition on this album, every Metro beat is fun and different, and the features pretty much all slap. Also On Time is heavenly and course there are some very famous bangers.

Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist - Alfredo
85

Lots of chill pieces on Alfredo, it lacks some innovation with the beats, and gets a bit repetitive after a while, but Freddie Gibbs created some great songs with cutting lyrics and really good features.

MF DOOM - The Prof Meets The SUPER VILLAIN
87

This EP is amazing, for earlier DOOM, you'd think this is some of his later works with how gravely he sounds, and the high rating is mostly just because of how much of a hidden gem this is, like most of everything DOOM does. The only song that doesn't slap on this is My Favorite Ladies, which has a remix on it, and guess what, IT SLAPS.

Viktor Vaughn - Vaudeville Villain
86

Vaudeville Villain is classic doom with villainous flows and some really REALLY catchy beats on songs like Saliva but doesn't hit nearly as hard as his later works, which makes it feel like he could've done a lot more because this was around the same time as his best albums like Madvillainy and Mm... Food.
