Tame Impala's self titled is a reallllly weird collection of tunes. On one hand, it's really cool hearing Tame Impala very early on and how his songwriting started out. Speaking of, it's rather a rather good showing, if not a little unfocused, all things considered. The songs flowed in and out through different sections, and it occasionally felt very piecemeal to me. That's not to say much of the work was unpleasant; there aren't really any dreadful moments here. It is hard to come back to, considering Mr. Impala's later work.

Part of the reason for this is probably because it feels like I'm listening to demos, rather than a full EP. The lofi production, while cool, definitely aids in this. It feels kinda thrown together and excited. The psychedelic influence is cool and appreciated, but much like psychedelic drugs, it leaves one almost confused and unfocused.

Still a great listen and one I'll come back to! A part of me really digs that raw sound, too!
