BROCKHAMPTON - GINGER

I knew I loved this album, but I think it didn't fully hit me how great it is until now. So much of it is so effectively melancholy, but it still delivers off kilter bangers like IF YOU PRAY RIGHT and BOY BYE. I see this album as a great sister album to iridescence, since both address the departure of Ameer Vann and the deep sadness that comes with trauma and adulthood. If iridescence was a scattered and angry reaction, GINGER is a solemn, downbeat reflection. It's not an album about solving problems, but learning how to live with them. Like iridescence, the reasons this album clicked with me so much do largely come down to the experiences I've gone through over the past year, but I think the fact that this was able to reach me the way it did says something about its greatness regardless.

Favorite tracks: DEARLY DEPARTED, NO HALO, IF YOU PRAY RIGHT, BIG BOY, BOY BYE, VICTOR ROBERTS, HEAVEN BELONGS TO YOU
Least favorite: LOVE ME FOR LIFE
