really awesome. i love the textures present, such as brittle sounding wind chimes (i think thats what they are) and the riffs are actually great. Probably the best RABM release I've found so far.
Boyd is easier to stomach with some simple neofolk chords in the background.
catchy, highly accessible bm, with a strong low end and a great drummer. Very strange stuff, but damn is it fun to listen to. Lyrics are a weak point, which wouldn't be a problem if they werent so damn easy to understand. Yeah the vocals aren't "clean" but they aren't exactly "harsh" either.
probably the best thing ill ever hear. So utterly sad, and comforting. Also this album slaps. Some really in your face catchy songs like deep deep and black metal records, and some better than sex buildups too, like in hunter and of course, earthmover.
I find it has less interesting ideas than the winter ray or dance, and its length is the most interesting thing about it. Slept to it once and that was a horrible experience, so thats a plus.
death of the west is great, fields and heaven street are amazing, and nirvana's alright.
solid 95, but I'll give it a 99 to counteract the 0 bombers. If you arent ready to separate the art from the artist, you have no business listening to neofolk and should excuse yourself.
Favorite tracks: The golden wedding of sorrow, Death is the martyr, Hollows of devotion
Probably my favorite pagan bm record, just utter peak and awesomesauce. Cant get into this bands other work, but the rawness and harsh vocals obliterate the cheese inherent to pagan bm. fav track: the fading landscapes glory.
