Will Wood & The Tapeworms - SELF-iSH
85

Solid album! I love the lyricism on most of these songs. They really tell a great story that I can personally enjoy listening to. Not only that, but the production on songs like Hand Me a Shovel and Dr. Sunshine Is Dead is crazy good! They just feel fun and make me wanna jump out of my seat and dance. With songs like Self- and -ish, it makes me wanna sob and just think about all of the mistakes in my life.

Sadly, there are a couple of songs I did not personally enjoy, like Mr. Capgras and The ... read more

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly

Truly an amazing album. Beautiful, magnificent, poetic, and just powerful.

Kendrick really changed hip-hop and its culture after that album, and I am glad many artists and their albums are inspired by the songs from not only this album, but also other Kendrick albums as well.

Will Wood & The Tapeworms - Everything Is a Lot

Nice album! I quite enjoy the vibe going out of it. Very theatrical. I also love the production on some of these songs, very dreamy. My personal favourites are Therodynamic Lawyer, 6up 5oh Cop-Out, and Chemical Overreaction / Compound Fracture!

I wasn't a huge fan of the lyrics most of the time, but some lines balanced out the ones I hate. It's definitely the album where you really have to enjoy this type of music to get a good feeling out of it. Except for the things I said, cool ... read more

Taylor Swift - The Life of a Showgirl
85

This album took me the longest to really know what to say haha.

Is it better than her other albums? Not really, but it is enough to say that I did enjoy it! With songs like The Fate of Ophelia, Opalite, and Wood, they all share lyrically and instrumentally stories about Travis and how she loves him. I find it pretty cute!
My favourite out of this album is The Life of a Showgirl with Sabrina Carpenter! Both of their vocals really come together nicely! :D

twenty one pilots - Breach

What an amazing album! I absolutely love the lyrics and instrumentals, which complement each other so greatly! With instrumentals like Tally and lyrics like One Way, there's nothing much to say other than TOP has done great things in this album!

Wallows - Nothing Happens
83

Nice album from the cool indie rock band, Wallows. It has some fun chill songs while keeping the mix of the sad ones as well. Such a nice experience, but not one where I think it's the greatest album yet. Cool stuff! :)

(shoutout to Pashankie for suggesting this album!)

Benson Boone - American Heart
60

The album definitely was better than how haters explained it would be. I still have my dislikes of the songs (like the production not being as it should be, which made the song feel awkward sometimes). The only 2 songs that I like out of it would be Sorry I'm Here For Someone Else (which great start to the album) and Wanted Man.

Overall, Benson probably could've made a much better album if he had thought out the lyrics a bit more and had better production on many of the songs.

AJR - What No One's Thinking
88

Quite a nice album! Love the folk-acoustic vibe they're going with some of the songs. Some issues I could say would be A Dog Song having that vocoder effect in the beginning (not my favourite), and The Big Goodbye not having much of a "BIG" production. There are a couple of additional examples, but those are the main ones.

Except for that, AJR has released a great album showcasing what has happened in their lives and how they have expressed it.

Sabrina Carpenter - Man's Best Friend
90

Wow!! What can I say? The album has bangers left and right that can get you grooving and just enjoying yourself (dancing, that's what I mean, you weirdos XD)

Sabrina really captures the vibe of a modern 80s album lyrically and instrumentally. Personally, I really like Goodbye. In my opinion, that's the best track on the album since it's super jammy and reminds me of an ABBA song. It may not be better than Short n' Sweet, but it did get up to the quality of Short n' ... read more

Laufey - A Matter of Time
89

Laufey really has you in a relationship-fantasy wonderland on this album, from a jazzy bar song like "Seems Like Old Times", a pop-indie/jazz song like "Lover Girl" and "Clean Air", a bossa nova dancy song like "Mr. Eclectic", to an eery chaotic song like "Sabotage."

She is able to capture every emotion with her soft vocals, and orchestra-type band, and make you think about some life choices you may have made in a relationship (I, for sure, ... read more

jschlatt - A Very 1999 Christmas
NR

I just listened to the entire album! Here is what I think:
Let it Snow! - First off, Jschlatt's voice sounds incredible! Didn't know he could sing haha. The composing is amazing to the song (I think it's the same as Frank Sinatra's song idk). Really good traditional song

Baby, It's Cold Outside - I love the background vocals on this one! Honestly, the last note that Jschlatt belted out is cool ngl. Pretty good song!

White Christmas - The choir is amazing as always. ... read more

AJR - The Maybe Man
88

I just listened to the album and here's what I think about it.

Maybe Man (Opening) is an amazing opening to the album because it shares the beginning of adulthood and they are thinking and learning about these new problems they are gonna have down the road. The instrumental of this song is pretty good because it opens up the album and welcomes people to it

Touchy Feely Fool is a pretty good dance song if you ever feel sad and want something to cheer you up. I love the melody and beat to it! ... read more

AJR - Yes I'm A Mess
83

The song is pretty good! I love the production of the music (the drums, synths, bass). I also love how the lyrics are relatable to people because there are moments in life when we want to start over with new problems and hope for them to be better. The only thing I didn't like is on the bridge it just repeats the chorus a bit, I wish there was something else to the lyrics there but other than that, it's pretty good!
