This is the second album I have listened to by Mac. The first one was called The Divine Feminine, and it was gorgeous as well, but Circles surpassed all expectations. I have yet to listen to Swimming, however, the producer has stated that it represents the initial chapter of the continuation of this album. I discovered alternative hip-hop with Circles. It might be Mac's album. This album is perhaps Mac's last, and there is no better way to end his discography. Rest in peace, Mac.
The Weeknd has carved out a very important place in contemporary R&B and pop music with "Beauty Behind the Madness." The singles from the album are the best tracks on the album, but the collaborations are a bit boring, especially Dark Time with Ed (I hate Ed, sorry not sorry). The production is spot on and the lyrics are a journey between lust and love.
I don't listen to Lana, but when I do, I listen to Ultraviolence and NFR because they are my favorites albums. My expectations for this album were very high as it contains some of their most popular songs and "Ultraviolence" more than lived up to their expectations. After what happened to Taylor, this is THE album of revenge. The single 'Look What You Made Me Do' shows that she's matured, that the old and pop- country Taylor is gone, and that the album would be darker and more electronic like the lead single. I am a fan of the album "Reputation", which is my favorite alongside 1989. Therefore, I am unable to decide which album is superior, either the previous one or the next one.
