not sure it really needed to be as long as it was if its not gonna change up much but its hard to do genuinely bad garage punk. Think they have the potential to make something a lot better though, since the bones are there on this one just not the most substance.
not gonna lie the whole album felt like a bit of a wash, but not necessarily in a bad way. Just very consistently churning out 7/10-8/10 type of songs, which obviously have their merit. Executes on what it sets out to do quite well, which isn't very ambitious in the first place.
Incredibly happy with this album. The production is very reminiscent of the early 2000's Grandaddy style which I am a sucker for, and the vocal performance/lyricism he brings to that instrumentation brings a whole new color to it. The children's choruses are used very well and avoid being tacky, and for the most part avoids the pitfalls of corniness that these types of albums can fall into. Definitely expect my score on this to rise as the year passes.
