This is Knocked Loose at their most ruthless and focused. Every track hits like a controlled detonation—blistering hardcore riffs, industrial-grade breakdowns, and Bryan Garris’s venomous howl locked into a sound that feels both apocalyptic and precise. The album wastes no time, burning through its runtime with pure hostile momentum, yet still finds room for eerie textures and unexpected turns. It’s short, brutal, and strangely cinematic, proving Knocked Loose aren’t ... read more
The production is on another level here, with this 22 track album feeling like one big cinematic piece to conclude The Weeknd's trilogy. The lyrics at times were very surface level and didn't really seem to convey the message I think Abel wanted to get across here, but it still works as an overall piece of art that tells a dark story of the personal sacrifices for fame. Taeyong feels like he's covering a new genre and sound in each song here, and it's so impressive how well he does it. Very versatile and enjoyable to listen to. His unique voice and cadence, along with his impressive flow schemes and switch ups in songs like TAP are genuinely so impressive for an idol. He stands out a lot and I don't think anyone can emulate his sound. Bonus points for this EP being entirely self produced.
Hard to believe a 5th Gen group is producing vocals like this, but I suppose it shouldn't come as a surprise when the members are so experienced in the industry already. Originally thought the chorus was off-putting, but I will admit after a few listens it begins to blend in a lot more and the song is even more enjoyable now. If anything, it adds more hype that could've been lacking from a more melodic song like this and I can't help but find myself getting excited each time the ... read more
