The duo's first album in 13 years may very well be their most meaningful yet. Their increased reliance on spoken word samples initially caught me off guard and took me a while to get acclimated to, but once I was, everything fell into place.

As revolutionary as this album was back in 1998 and as puzzled as I am trying to figure out how they’ve made some of the songs on this record using tech from back then, I don’t think this has aged particularly well, especially when comparing it with other records by Boards of Canada like “Geogaddi” or “The Campfire Headphase”.

I listened to this album just purely because of the title and the album cover reminding me of Venetian Snares for whatever reason, and went into this expecting some sort of breakcore/idm. Maybe it is because of that, but the first half of this album really was a massive letdown. But my oh my, the second half of this album, from "Shine On" onwards, truly is phenomenal.
It seems like Ninajirachi has opened Pandora's box with her breakthrough album, "I Love My Computer". Following that album, this year has delivered an endless assault of incredible albums from the women of electropop and hyperpop. Petalbyte's "<10><" is another addition to the growing collection of these brilliant albums.
