American Football - American Football

The Clash - London Calling

A catchy and groovy classic! I have nothing negative to say about it. Death or Glory, Clampdown, Lost in the Supermarket, all classics. But I just don't see myself returning very often.

Michael Jackson - Bad

poetic irony ah title

Petalbyte - <10><
80

Petalbyte is the obvious result of years spent perfecting their craft for years before a debut, and it just so happened to pay off incredibly well. Petal weaves wistful and intimate stories of their personal experiences through perfectly polished and creative soundscapes, all without sacrificing their chronically online bedroom identity. That parity is what perfects <10><'s diligent balancing act of vulnerable theatrics and consistent aesthetic. This is exactly the type of music ... read more

Tiffany Day - HALO
85

What is it with 2026 and making albums SPECIFICALLY for me??? Tiffany Day is the flawless evolution of everything I've always adored about early 2010s Pop. There's simply no room for any major critique. This will be in rotation the entire year!

slayr - Half Blood (BloodLuxe)
90

Slayr flawlessly blurs the line between 2000s kid digicore and anti-music rage sensibilities, and absolutely charms me by wearing all of his fixations and media taste on his sleeve. It's like he takes his influences and referential content directly from my childhood. Bloodluxe is superior to Half Blood in nearly every way without ever making the original obsolete.

Good Kid - Can We Hang Out Sometime?
90

Good Kid's EPs encapsulated my entire high school experience, and it feels joyous to see them release their best work ever after so long. Only a band you discovered your freshman year would be worth hopping in the car right after work, driving states away to see live, getting home at 3:30 AM and clocking into a 6:00 AM shift for. The show was amazing. Great friends, great music, and 4 years of memorizing my favorite band's lyrics finally put to good use. It was the biggest show ... read more

Great example of the genre at its most disciplined, but it makes me begin to question whether the novelty justifies its existence more than the core.

≫ ゜✼ + : 。China Kuramoto。 : + ✼ ゜≪ - STEP1
65

Really great! I'm hoping this polished yet grimy, aesthetically amateurish (though clearly not practically amateur) type of hyperflip continues to evolve and carve itself more meaning, because great displays like these prove that the genre has a bit of a low ceiling as it relates to how far you can go with pure polish.

Clarion - Blue Fairy

dude. hell yes. i know they love evangelion

friends& - folx
90

Folx is an expansive microcosm of the knowledge that your prime mode of self-expression was made exclusively for and by freaks, and the inevitable deconstruction of the ego that proceeds from that.

Slayyyter - WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA
65

All of it may not be for me, but when it hits, it is big booty rumpus shaking worthy

indie tribe - WHO DO YOU SAY I AM?
75

The best CHH album to date. tribe has capitalized on the potential they've been teasing for the past couple years.

Jill is a titan. Soul will never die.

Kanye West - BULLY
40

Bully is an album that was created, produced and released on a day of a month of a year, it was also thought of and considered before being made, with the stipulation that there be music involved in the production.

Quadeca - i.ii.iii
60

A pleasant ambient package of leftovers from Vanisher, though its existence as a separate release leaves itself somewhat unjustified. These feel more comfortable as D-sides on a physical release than an official streaming drop.

"@shadebinder It has a lot to do with how a lot of the chords are drowned out. There's some really deep sounding chamber folk mixing that I absolutely love. For example, at the end of the title track, there's this almost heartbeat-like tone that slowly fades away just before the track finishes, and I live for it. The album is just filled with these gorgeous subtleties that make it feel "liminal" in the sense that it sounds all-encompassing. Kinda like the music is surrounding you from all sides."

On nobigdyl. - SEOUL BROTHER
"Agreed! To me, with Dyl, it just hits a bit more knowing how great he can be. Seoul Brother was also a bit of a novelty project on account of being made within a week or two, so the downsides of this project likely won't apply to the next drop, so you may be right on the front of my criticism being a little harsh in context."
