Imagine taking the subpar songwriting of an AC/DC album, and removing all the character and charisma of the vocals provided by Bon Scott or Bryan Johnson as well as the Young brothers' guitars and replace it with the worst death metal vocals you can think of and you get this. Genuinely awful vocal performances over generic and uninteresting instrumentals. Kinda funny though.
Of course the album's material doesn't add up to a 0, but the act of adding three classic Beach Boys songs to pad out the runtime of this otherwise bad album is enough to drag this down to the depths of hell. Also Island Girl is genuinely one of the worst songs I've ever heard
As generic as generic can be in a lot of moments,
honestly nothing really too bad except for that random "When You Wish Upon a Star" cover at the end.
A lot of this album is super cool and atmospheric electronic music that seems like it sounds pretty ahead of its time (I am by no means an expert on electronic music, its evolution nor its origin so don't quote me on that). But this album is full of unique soundscapes and chilling atmospheres.
