Just to give a little background on why I (even though I know most of you don't care) have been so inactive on this account. I have been extremely busy (and lazy) so I kind of forgot about listening to new music and have been stuck on a loop of the same music I've been listening to from sophomore to my junior year of high school. But I'm a senior now and I just got my early decision acceptance, so I am free at last.
Anyways, onto the more important things in life, Shinichi ... read more
Nmixx is like Allen the Alien from Invincible was a k-pop group who just kept getting better and better after each comeback.
Nmxix is back with the latest in the Fe304 saga and undeniably the BEST project they've ever released. FORWARD is a direction that more groups should go into. This is one of the best k-pop eps released and you just have to listen to it to understand. Do yourself a favor though and skip Golden Recipe because it's one of their worst songs ever. I have no idea ... read more
I think this might be their most consistent project yet. Hot is basically like the title says, Hot, but it also dives into different genres pretty well to me. DESPITE THERE ONLY BEING 4 SONGS. All of those songs are enjoyable and are some of the most fun songs Le Sserafim has released in their career. Come Over (which instantly reminds me of The Internet) and Ash are great b-sides and I think I'll be returning to this a lot more than Crazy or Easy.
What can I say? I will be a Parannoul rider till I die.
Parannoul comes back with a gritty, dark, and abrasive album. Steering away from his usual shoegaze inspired sound. While it's going to take getting used to from Parannoul, I ADORE THIS DIRECTION. The grittiness is something I believe his music was missing and with this project (that's just a 1 hour song) I think he hits all my funny bones in all the right spots. This is currently my AOTY, but any Parannoul project is an AOTY ... read more
THE BEST AOTY USER IS BACK. My laziness has ended and my first review back is with the older Marsh sister.
Meanwhile is the debut ep from Olivia Marsh, who’s NOT a k-pop idol but is just an artist which is interesting. I love that she isn’t an idol because she’s not defined by the conventional boundaries of being an idol but like no Olivia Marsh photocards cmon. The ep is very enjoyable imo, if you check out her spotify playlist you can cleary see where she gets a lot of her ... read more
If this is the approach Yves decides to go in IM ALL FOR IT KEEP GOING YVES.
When I tell you I was so excited for this I MEAN IT. I literally bought a signed album I was so excited. And Yves did meet my expectations. Surprisingly, the best song is not the tt, BUT EVERY OTHER SONG but tik tok. Hashtag acts as a very r&bish track, reminds me of older Britney Spear songs and I’m loving it. Then you have Gone Girl which is so catchy and I can definitely hear some Yerin Baek inspiration ... read more
Why has Ive’s new music just felt so superficial. I love them but this just seems like a worse version of We Are Young by Dreamcatcher. Catchy but god it feels lifeless
Do you know how excited I was to hear full electronic elements in Whiplash. I’m on the last track and there’s nothing electronic about this.
Before I get to my issues, this album is consistent, none of the songs here are bad. Nothing is downright terrible. Whiplash, Kill it, Flight, Not Feelings, and Flowers are all good tracks. Pink Hoodie and Just Another Girl fall into the same k-pop formula. But a solid ep nonetheless. But my gripes with this ep and k-pop in general is how it ... read more
Coming from the sister of popular idol Danielle Marsh from NewJeans, I definitely didn’t expect this.
My expectations going into this was definitely some poppy tune track, a little generic but good. But this shattered them (in a good way) with a soft folkyish track, I hope she continues to go in this direction!
Album feels like a laced ecstasy trip while you’re having sex with a hooker
Can Black Midi split up 20 more times if this is what we’re getting
Peak Japanese shoegaze at it’s finest.
Japanese Shoegaze truly doesn’t get any better than this, with alluring riffs to indistinguishable lyrics. Honeydip does the average shoegaze album 10x better through sheer length and vibe.
The run from Common Loon to T.D.F.T.W is insane
I love you Tzuyu but this ep just feels so lifeless, like musically it sounds good. But each and every song just feels so lifeless like it was made from an A.I generator. The only song I would repeatedly come back to is Run Away and that’s just if i’m feeling nostalgic because she finally got her solo.
Why did this album just wash their others. TTYL does everything One of a kind and self-titled but 10x better, it feels way smoother and more cohesive and the music just simply sounds better. LOONA COMING TO DOMINATE K-POP
