Ray Charles - A Message From The People
93

A Message From The People : a well-named LP if I say. Ray Charles in this opus, carry effectively the voice of the black people. The LP , carry by excellents Soul Jazz compositions , discuss the place of the black people in America, a community which face poverty, defiance, racism, cultural appropriation. Topics which, while oriented to the US-black community, can be apply to all black people around the world. A true gem

ScHoolboy Q - Oxymoron
85

Today i've listened Oxymoron again. And like the first time, i've really like It.
Schoolboy in the project, tell the story of all those young black men who were raised in the gangsta way, and fully embraced it. We really can feel the Early Weast Coast prod influences here, even in the way he rapped. Truly a very good LP

Juicy J - Caught Up In This Illusion
80

Never in my life i'd ever thought Juicy J will deliver not only a jazz album, but a good one. And yet , here we are.
The LP altern with full jazz composition (Taking My Kid To School , Can't Take That Away From Me) and Jazz-rap fusion (AM).
Juicy deliver a more intimist project, centered around his feeling about love, relationship, and live.
It's not Miles Davis 's Kind of a Blues , but definitively a good LP, and surprisely one of the best LP of 2025

GIVĒON - BELOVED
90

Beloved is among the best albums i've heard in 2025. Giveon deliver here an excellent LP revolving around two themes: love and break up. Or to be specific our feelings when a relationship ended. Sometimes bitter ( Twenties, Mud), sometimes nostalgic (Rather Be, Don't leave, Stranger), and carry by a contemporany R'nB song and his silk voice.

Justin Bieber - SWAG
72

After a long break, Justin return with a new project SWAG. If the title will make chuckle some of us, the LP is...interesting. While he's certainly far from being the AOTY, SWAG is an intimist album. Mixing r'nB (All I can take, Go Baby) and pop (Yukon, Daisy), Bieber deliver a solid project.
