I don’t remember the last time EOTS released a full LP that was no skips - maybe 2008?
First two tracks? Awesome. After a couple more theres really nothing to write home about which makes this a pretty forgettable project. This wasn’t the one.
This didn’t entirely blow me away, but it’s a refreshing new piece of work from Porter Robinson. It’s a vibrant blend of emotive lyrics and innovative electronic vibes which showcases his growth as an artist.
Did not expect this.
Childish Gambinos final LP is a mixed bag. It's all over the place, yet it's a pretty bold artistic move. Despite some standout tracks, this album as a whole feels disjointed and fails to deliver a satisfying experience for me - not the best way to go out.
Denzel Curry sets the tone. This is FIRE.
This is a pure powerhouse of raw energy and sharp lyricism while blending those hard hitting instrumentals. It's a dynamic and engaging listen that solidifies his place in the hip-hop scene.
This is a snooze fest.
It's a disappointing effort that lacks the creativity and energy fans have come to expect. It's a pretty forgettable release that lacks the spark of their previous work.
Finally the world has officially received a Berlioz LP.
This is a sonic masterpiece. It just flows effortlessly - the soulful improvisations of jazz intertwining beautifully with the driving beats of house music.
I low key forgot we still had Lupe Fiasco out there.
This was a pleasant listen. I'm loving the Boom Bap.
Yeah...this isn't an absolute dumpster fire from Camila, but it's on the fringe -- maybe a small to medium sized trash can fire.
Also the fact that Drake is somehow featured TWICE and one of them just happens to be his own track, makes this pretty forgettable.
This marks my 100th review on AOTY so I'll try to put some actual effort into this one -- what a fun journey this has been.
Speaking of journeys, what a journey and turnaround this has been for Lil Yachty in the past two years. This was my most highly anticipated album of 2024 especially after experiencing 'Lets Start Here' back in 2023 which was incredible, however I was genuinely questioning what this was going to sound like. It's like not finding out what the gender of ... read more
They say that music can heal the wounds that medicine cannot touch and Berlioz continues to prove that with each release.
Holy smokes.
I didn't think this would be my type of thing but I just had to take a listen.
This slapped harder than my grandmother when I forgot her birthday. This was like a high-speed joyride through a neon cityscape. Production is absolutely INSANE and is probably the main highlight.
Album of the year contender.
I have to admit this LP is kinda fun - basically a 2024 version of the (somewhat) Beastie Boys.
It sounds like Vince has matured a bit.
Although this new LP is only about 35 minutes long, it’s the great production and laid back flows that makes this Vince Staples album shine through the cracks.
It’s Billie Eillish so of course I didn’t expect any head rocking feel good bangers on this but rather got some melancholic vibes with great production and performance.
It’s been a while since we heard “Childish Gambino” release a full mastered LP and this was a bit of a surprise. This album isn’t a cohesive masterpiece but he is still able to showcase his versatility and creativity which I can appreciate. I don’t really see high replay value with this LP maybe expect for a couple tracks that stuck with me.
I really liked and vibed to “Psilocybae” and I wish there were more tracks like that.
“Little Foot Big ... read more
Berlioz continues to make blissful jazz bops that just melt the soul.
Listening to this album made me feel like I should be locked in my room eating my vegan salad bowl while sipping on my gallon sized kombucha while smoking the biggest joint ever.
This low key kinda slaps though.
(fire ass album cover as well)
The intro track of this thing alone was more than enough to get me hooked into listening to the rest of it.
It’s safe to assume the quality and creativity that Chief Keef processes has improved greatly.
Considering the horrendous cover and past boring flops of projects here and there, I didn’t have high hopes for this going into it but It at least sounds like PND actually put in some legitimate effort here.
Swifties are going full send right now.
While this may have been pretty predictable from the biggest artist in the world, this is rather just another addition to her growing discography that will please fans old and new.
