Nick Drake - Pink Moon
100

i’m not sure if this 100 is is too high, but this genuinely is one of the best folk albums i have ever heard. nick drake’s voice has a tone to it i don’t know how to explain, it feels like i’m listening to a beautiful childrens book. nick drake is the only drake actually, the other one could never compare to him. every song is amazing, and the guitar is so intricate. rest in peace nick drake you truly are one in a million.

JPEGMAFIA - All My Heroes Are Cornballs
90

this is actually an incredible album. jpegmafia’s production and mixing, especially on the percussion, is like top tier and somen of the best i have heard. i also loved the experimentation on the album, and no songs really had a set sound, they all had their own signature sound and stuff like that. im honestly speechless, i really don’t know what else to say. my favorite tracks are probably jpegmafia type beat, free the frail, and grimy waifu.

Finn Wolfhard - Happy Birthday
60

you know i really want to like this album but i just cant. theres something about the sound that i can’t get into. at the same time i understand why people like it, and i’m not shaming anyone who likes it at all, just for me personally its not for me. i’ll probably come back to it in a few months and try it again, but as it stands now i’m just gonna give it an even 60.

飞翔的橡果牛 - 卑微的大黄蜂
84

this ep from the flying acorn cow project was actually pretty engaging. some good production here (although the third track gets extremely loud at some points) but i still thought it was clever.

kmoe - K1
82

kmoe had a really good debut album! for the most part at least. i saw another review say the last two tracks felt uninspiring and yeah i can see that. the other tracks i did enjoy though,

Jane Remover - Teen Week
88

i truly do feel that jane was ahead of their time with this ep. very good hyperpop, especially for being 17 years old. had to look into more of jane’s discography after i listened to revengeseekerz, and it’s safe to say i enjoyed this ep alot. it is a very fun listen, especially the first and third tracks.

Aquatone - Storm
NR

hate this. this sucks

Jane Remover - Revengeseekerz
97

this album literally sounds like my brain 24/7. im not sure how jane even does this, they obviously are one of the best modern producers to ever do it, and i thoroughly enjoyed this album. im not even sure what my favorite track is, all of them were amazing. in specific, i really liked dreamflasher, angels in camo, and turn up or die. like i cannot explain how amazing this album is, it actually has some of the best composition i have heard in a while. gonna check out jane’s discgoraphy ... read more

Lil Squeaky - TOM & JERRY GET RICH
10

i listened to two songs and stopped. this is true dog shit. the only thing i liked is the sample in the second song. some of these lyrics are the most unintellectual things ive ever heard.

Ethel Cain - Nettles
50

do i just not get the appeal? i liked alot of ethel’s other stuff, but this song is just boring to me i’m sorry. its not special in my eyes, just another ethel cain song.

bl4ck m4rket c4rt - Today I Laid Down
90

i do not understand how bl4ck m4rket c4rt was literally just a 17 year old guy who made this by himself. this is some of the best music released in 2023. i’ve known about this project for around a year and a half now, and have been itching to hear more. of course i couldn’t as kai wesener sadly passed away in late 2023, and he never got to see the impact this ep made after his passing.

i saw on bandcamp recently his family was planning on releasing a vinyl of the album, so ... read more

Swans - Birthing
56

i went into this new swans record expecting to really like it based off the reviews i’d seen. coming out disappointed, this was not the highlight of the year i thought it would be. i completely understand the appeal of this album, and i actually kind of liked it at first. the second song is incredible, and so is the last one. those parts though, and the varying other parts of the album i enjoyed, are just not redeeming enough for me to listen to this again. i think red & yellow was ... read more

hkmori - unrequited love
74

makes my ears hurt in the best way possible. this kind of breakcore is amazing, one of my favorites to ever do it aswell

84

crazy heavy debut from dragged into sunlight. been wanting to listen for a while so i finally did a couple days ago, and now i’m definently a fan. don’t know if my favorite track is volcanic birth of lashed to the grinder, both songs are heavy as hell. love this

Deafheaven - Lonely People With Power
88

The first time I listened to Deafheaven’s sophomore album Sunbather, I was blown away. I loved it, and the title track quickly became one of my favorite songs of all time. Shamefully, I have not dove into the rest of their discography, but after reviewing this album I definitely did, and I am in love. This album in specific, Lonely People With Power, might just be their heaviest release yet. It reminds me of a mix between their 2013 Demo and their third studio album New Bermuda, which ... read more

Planning For Burial - It's Closeness, It's Easy
93

thank you thom wasluck for providing us with another album that perfectly encapsulates the feelings of dread and gloom. i love planning for burial, so i already knew i would like this album going into it. this might possibly be my favorite planning for burial release to date, leaving is a close second though. this album is actually a masterpiece. the atmosphere thom makes with his droning synths is nothing short of genius, and this album does that better than any other i feel. easily one of my ... read more

Lord Snow - Solitude
86

this makes me ears hurt but its so good. i hear influences of mathcore, screamo, emoviolence, and like eighteen other genres. one of the most chaotic albums i’ve ever listened to. nothing short of amazing, and im really excited to check out more of lord snow.

Theodore War - 3 Song Demo
78

love shrieking emoviolence, extremely clever instrumentals aswell.

Tears of Avarel - Demo
76

absolutely insane, it wouldn’t surprise me if these vocals were by like a parrot or something. i actually love this so much
