"Lemonade" is Beyoncé's best album! I can't say enough good things about this album! Just pure perfection!
First the story-line, she was so vulnerable to share this album with the world bc it essentially feels like a letter to Jay-z (which honestly can't think of a reason why he cheated on her), she shares from her first thoughts of doubt and of suspicion of her husband in "Pray You Catch Me" to her anger In both "Hold Up" and "Don't Hurt Yourself", to then reflecting and seeing her self-worth in "6 Inches", to then comparing her dad with jay and the ways in which they are really similar in their mistakes in "Daddy Lessons" (which must've been a real hit to both of them at the time considering the rumors that they don't like each other), to then going to a deep sadness and forgiveness in the next 3 tracks, to then feeling free and more confident in her relationship to jay and to herself in the last three tracks! We were able to go on this journey with her, and she let us know just the right amount of details so we could piece the story together!
Then the production of these songs, bc they have such a different feel and sound in between them, but they all work together sooo well! "Pray You Catch Me" being this slow, just sad song carried by her harmonies, "Hold Up" feeling so light but the lyrics being so angry and her feeling disappointed in her husband, "Don't Hurt Yourself" just her being angry and pissed the fuck off in this rock song is so fucking amazing, "Sorry" being so minimalist in the production so we can concentrate on what she is saying, "6 Inches" being this trap, sultry R&B where she talks about regaining her confidence! "Daddy Lessons" being just country, talking about her roots and how she was raised up, "Love Drought", "Sandcastles", and "Forward" being just slow ballads, piano heavy and just alternative enough to keep us interested in the melody but not too much to distract from the messages of the songs! "Freedom", "All Night", and "Formation" just perfect from start to finish, and she is just feeling free from this type of "curse" she feels like she has been on since the start of the album!
And finally, the whole visual aspect of the album is amazing, and I kinda would like a version of this album with the interludes and spoken poetry she does in between the songs for the visuals bc I just feel they complement the story so well and add a whole other element to the story! HER MAGNUM OPUS!
