A little while ago I awarded the best solo project by a Blackpink member to 'Alter Ego'. I can confidently say 'Ruby' takes that crown now!
Jennie shows some real personality on this record. That's something that's been a difficult transition for a lot of K-Pop stars. Jennie also got some amazing features on this album that work really well with her.
Songs like 'Mantra' and 'Love Hangover' are just really fun and catchy pop songs. 'ExtraL' is also a very interesting track with Doechii, which didn't really connect with me the first few listens, but has definitely grown on me since. Sadly towards the end there are a couple tracks I find slightly more boring. But overall a decent record by Jennie.
