"Fast car, make it go vroom, vroom. Take her to the Boom Boom Room"
Sadly I expected a lot more from this album. Even though the trap beats aren't complete slop like a lot of the music from this era, the high-pitched auto-crooning is still something I think is very hard to pull of in a way I'll enjoy it (unless you're Yuno Miles). I'm glad 'The Box' happened, and there are a couple of other tracks on here that I enjoy, but for the most part, it is not ... read more
THIS IS WHAT THEY SHOULD BE PLAYING IN THE CLUB! If this comes on, I'll be there in a heartbeat.
Ooh my goodness... this album is absolutely incredible. The production is so crisp. Those synths are straight-up Mike Dean-esque. Especially, 'DANCE...', which feels like an incredible TheWeeknd song. And don't even get me started on 'YES GODDD'. That track took me on a journey I didn't know I needed.
It's been a while, since I've been THIS excited ... read more
Juice WRLD's first posthumous album lives up to the expectations you'd have from his work. It's clear that he had a lot of ideas ready to be released. But at the same time, it's absolutely heartbreaking to hear him speak so openly about his drug addiction and mental health struggles, when we know we lost him by an overdose. It just makes lyrics like this hit way harder:
"If it wasn't for the pills, I wouldn't be here
But if I keep taking these pills, I ... read more
This is what I would like Dutch music to represent!
Sophie Straat is an incredible artist who speaks her mind about the current state of the country, especially the imbalance between the rights of women and men. Her energy is infectious, and the way she phrases her lyrics is so powerful, and at moments even humorous.
She also experiments with a variety of styles, occasionally poking fun at genres like the traditional kroegenlied, which is usually very male-dominated. That added layer of ... read more
I never expected a Jack Harlow record to leave me feeling this... conflicted?
Yet another white rapper pivoting genres when the rap lane isn't hitting the same numbers as it used to... but I have to admit, Jack leaning into this loungy R&B sound wasn’t something I saw coming.
What makes this conflicing is that the instrumentals are actually really nice and calming. They're able to create a loungy, smooth atmosphere, but Jack just doesn't complement them well enough ... read more
This is what JACKBOYS wants to be!
Just a bunch of bangers from Denzel Curry and the gang! At least the first 5 tracks are very enjoyable. There are a verse or two I'm not the biggest fan of, but that is almost expected with group projects like this. Nevertheless, those tracks bring such an amazing energy that you'll take those verses for granted.
Sadly, that energy fades a bit in the last leg of the record. Some of the features definitely drag it down for me, but the production ... read more
After a very decent debut album by Juice WRLD, he sadly disappoints with this 2nd record. There is definitely a decent album somewhere in these tracks, but there's about 5-10 of them that should be cut from the tracklist to get get that result. It is just way too bloated by trap slop, mostly in the last leg. But I will be returning to those couple diamonds in the rough either way.
Tracklist: 59/100
Vibes: 50/100
Look, I will never be mad at Bruno sweet-talking his lady, no matter how corny it might get. He gets away with it utilizing his amazing vocals floating effortlessly over smooth, funky and even some Latin vibes. It WILL get me moving.
That said, i'd be lying if I said I wasn't expecting a bit more of the sweetness and groove we got on An Evening with Silk Sonic. That album is just pure vibes and joy. Maybe this proves that Bruno and .Paak should get back in the studio ... read more
Zara Larsson is a pop starr!
After a little rebranding and making her sound a bit more modern, she is totally back in the spotlight and, dare I say, it is deserved. Other than being an amazing performer and singer, she seems like such a sweet person. And the fact 'Midnight Sun' and the revival of 'Lush Life' were able to give her what she's asking for on 'The Ambition' is honestly so sweet.
But the music... I mostly enjoy it! It is still very much Zara ... read more
I'm sadly kind of disappointed about this mixtape. What I've heard from Baby Keem thus far was very positive, but going through this whole mixtape wasn't it.
At first, the more R&B vibes don't really fit him. In my opinion, only on 'Honest' he sounds kinda good, but for the most part it isn't for me. It should be noted that trap-R&B is never really my cup of tea, but Keem seems to really fall into repetitiveness with those choruses.
A second problem ... read more
Why is Joji still making lofi, interlude songs the main focus on his album?
This guy made one of my favourite ballads of the 21st century… ‘Glimpse Of Us’, but fails to deliver a good album!
To be fair a bunch of the sounds on here are just not for me, mostly speaking about the Drum and Bass and the Trap Soul tracks. But it feels like there’s only a handful of thought through songs on here, most of them just sound like demos. I just don’t get why Joji is still ... read more
Yet another very strong Poppy record, but it takes things a little bit easier than 'I Disagree'. This leans more into a rock sound rather than full-on metal, but that doesn't take away from the enjoyment. The topics she speaks on through these tracks is still very strong: femininity, abuse and victim blaming.
That said there are a couple songs that don't hit the mark for me, those are: 'On the Level' and 'Hysteria'. Those tracks don't bring enough ... read more
Poppy's first real metal album is absolutely amazing! The way she's able to blend pop with metal is mesmerizing. But listening through these amazing instrumentals, it's clear Poppy is also telling a very personal story about how she's felt recently about her fame, her mental state and her 'bond' with Titanic Sinclair. Who Poppy worked with before, but had a manipulative and abusive personality, especially towards women. Luckily, Poppy was able to break the bond ... read more
Rocky is definitely having fun on this record, throwing some shots at people who have been shooting at him too. Mainly, Drake and A$AP Relli. Apart from that he's showing a lot of love to Rihanna, how could you not?
For the most part I do enjoy this record. Towards the 2nd half there are some experimental tracks that feel a bit too all over the place for me... mainly 'STFU' and 'AIR FORCE'. But then we get the jazzy track with Doechii, which is very out of place, but ... read more
I'm not sure I'm always a fan of the pitched down vocals, but overall a very solid album with very good production.

How is this his first actual commercial release, but it feels like the most disjointed project he has released thus far…
The highlights are very limited and even though the run-time is only 50 minutes… all the terrible tracks make it feel like 2 hours.
Tracklist: 45/100
Vibes: 30/100
Guys! Swag III dropped!
Laroi is really in his feelings about his last break-up, and what’s the next move then? Make an R&B album! Sadly, it is not great… but he’s definitely been having singing lessons, because his voice has gotten a lot better. Even though he does sound a lot like Justin Bieber, who smoked too many cigarettes most of the time.
Tracklist: 43/100
Vibes: 40/100
If you like Addison Rae… you will love Adéla!
This album is quintessential pop music. It makes you wanna dance, it’s raunchy and has such interesting layers. Absolutely astounding! I can’t wait for a bigger release.
Tracklist 89/100
Vibes: 90/100
I just have a weakness for Roxy Dekker. I absolutely adore the additude she brings on her tracks, and I'm really glad she changed up here sound a little bit. As her biggest critism was that everything sounded the exact same, it's nice to see a subtle change in genre choices.
