This is by far the most west coast kendrick album, and I'm not mad at it. Although there a few parts that are a little eh (mustard), reincarnated, the heart pt 6 (my favorite), & man at the garden alone make this a great album. My biggest gripe with this album is I wish there were less songs like peakaboo and gnx. His voice gets a little weird at times, but he does get in his bag on quite a few tracks. alice, the art of war, famous, and samurai were the best songs imo. Everything else isn't really stuff I would visit often, but still good shit. Call me back is a nice vibe and I lowkey would fall alseep to it, in a good way. KIDS SEE GHOSTS is an impressive record with some pretty good highs. Although Feel The Love is pretty repetitive and at times kinda weird, it has a great pusha t verse and great melody from Kid Cudi. 4th Dimension might be one of my favorite late 2010's kanye songs, amazing beat and fun verses from both artists. When I first got into Kendrick, for a long time my favorite album of his was "Mr Morale & The Big Steppers," and while I still love that album, going back to this one made me realize how amazing this project actually is. The production is incredible, especially on Sherane. The eerie vibe of the vocals and the smooth bass gives such a good listen. BDKMV & Money Trees also stand out to me from a production perspective.
