Truly a thrash metal masterpiece. There are no other words I could use to describe it. This sophomore album is such a huge step up from Metallica’s debut “Kill ‘Em All”. Despite KEA having some great tracks, like Seek and Destroy and Whiplash, it struggles in finding what genre it’s trying to fit into. RTL has an idea of what it’s trying to be, while still keeping the songs different. From thrash masterpieces like Creeping Death, to the slow ballad-like piece ... read more
No, NO, NOOOOOOOO! What the fuck bro. I wanna give this a 100, I really do, I just can’t. The first five tracks on this album are so boring and uninteresting. I’ve given 100’s to albums were I don’t live every song, like Fantastic Planet by Failure for example. I don’t really like 3 songs on that album, but I still have it a 100 since those tracks don’t bring the rest down. But, since the first three tracks on this are boring and feel like they go on ... read more
I definitely have a sentimental attachment to some of these songs, mainly the hits like Dead or Alive and Livin on a Prayer. This is because of my mom, who introduced me to Bon Jovi when I was a kid. I’ve always liked Bon Jovi’s voice and the instrumental is what I was expecting. This album doesn’t do anything crazy, but that fine. This is a fun ... read more
Was this a generic Alt-rock album? Absolutely. Does that make it any less fun to listen to? Absolutely not. This is just a fun, energetic album. I could picture driving around with friends on a warm summer day playing this and singing along to it. The guitar work and bass is really catchy and fun, and I hear hints of Failure in some of the songs. Anchor was the song that drove me to listen to this album, and it is still my favorite, with Inspire as my second favorite, but the second half of ... read more
This album is quite the trip. A very fun, diverse album that definitely shows off this bands rather unique sound. Some of the songs have a spacey sound, and some are just straight up rock. The instrumentation and vocals really stand out on this album, but I have a huge gripe with the bass. The bass work on this is SUPER technical, but the volume of the bass is too low to appreciate it most of the time. That’s my only major gripe though, I liked this as a whole. My favorites were Sanzen, ... read more
