The first album post-𝙄𝙣𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙚 was always gonna be make-or-break for Deafheaven. And make it they did.
𝙇𝙋𝙒𝙋 is sonically mature, crisp, and tightly recorded. Melodic but heavy, meandering yet structured. Just so incredibly re-listenable.

the ambition of the band and their musical progress since the last release are both staggering on this album
so happy to see the band maturing sonically in this sophomore release.
although this one lacks the innocent, melodic raw energy of their debut album, the hard-hitting moments on Drunk Tank really push the post-punk aesthetic in black midi-like directions.
