Haunting, beautiful, fascinating, this was the perfect way to close out the album.
I think it's really interesting how John made this song out of 2 Nirvana b-sides
A little bit underwhelming, honestly. Knowing this band's ability to construct perfect songs, I'm a little disappointed that the highs weren't higher.
THE GREATEST GUITAR RIFF OF ALL TIME
THE GREATEST BASSLINE OF ALL TIME
THE GREATEST GROOVE OF ALL TIME
AMAZING DRUMS
PURE ENERGY ON THE VOCALS
THIS IS THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
Yes I understand that this song is a soulless, commercial and bland version of the passion that the john-era chili peppers originally had.
But the sheer talent and groove of this band is just enough to will this song into positive territory.
When I saw this song live at Nats Park on 9/8/22, I knew that I didn't ever need anything more out of music in my whole life. I had already experienced the best music had to offer.
There are at least 5 other songs that could have been singles over this.
