I can’t describe in words how i like this album really but there is such a fantastic atmosphere here.
VPN, Benadryl, and Porcelain immediately stand out as the best songs.
The Scholars follows on from a highly divisive Making a Door Less Open and I am glad to say that the wait was worth it for this album, even if it doesn’t necessarily reinvent the wheel or take any major risks.
The accompanying artwork is fun and outlines several characters that we follows vignettes of through this 71 minute length.
The opener CCF instantly resumes that more rock orientated Car Seat sound that Will and the band are so good at creating, and uses its runtime ... read more
Such a great album, i can't really put how i feel about it into words right now but no song falls off here.
Hands down I think this is the best Daft Punk 'album'. All of the songs originally are fantastic, but there is something electrifying about seeing them applied in the context they were created for. The sounds of the live audience really enhance the feeling of these songs.
All of the mashups work unbelievably well.
I understand why Abel wanted to go out with a bang on Hurry Up Tomorrow, but i think the 22 track length really just doesn't help it here. After Hours and Dawn FM both had such concise themes, and atmospheric songs, but Hurry Up Tomorrow feels a bit more stitched together.
There are some fantastic songs here [Wake Me Up, Cry For Me, Baptized In Fear, Open Hearts, Given Up On Me, I Can't Wait To Get There, Niagara Falls, The Abyss, Red Terror, Without A Warning, and Hurry Up Tomorrow] ... read more
I enjoyed this album quite a bit, but came here after imaginal disk which just blows this one out of the water. The songs are all good but i found them a little more forgettable than it's followup.
You Lose! and Something for 2 are excellent though and definite standouts.
I actually enjoyed this album quite a bit even though the mixing was spotty.
The songwriting is really catchy and well structured
-> the mixing is a feature not a bug, i have had this on repeat so much and am very excited for the 3rd album
A fantastic LP from Lupe here, the wordplay is insanely clever and the instrumentations are all fantastic.
denzel releases yet another solid project and further cements himself as the most consistent hip hop artists out there
This was a fantastic album. I was always a fan of black midi but Greep put it best, midi was music for the brain and this is music for the ears.
The whole album is so pleasing to listen to whilst retaining its complex and layered instrumental, and the story of how this was made is really impressive.
The best songs here are Terra, As if Waltz, and the Magician
goes hard, strongest kendrick material in a little while, fans are eating good in 2024
A solid album from the cure in 2024. Robert's performance is incredible. The mixing leaves a little to be desired, but it is a super strong album.
Was not a fan of this album, it was mostly forgettable and i do not see myself coming back to this
insanely good upon first listen
A near perfect album which closely captures the magic and atmosphere of The Glow pt.2, one of my favourite albums, whilst also showing Phil's maturing as an artist as well as where he is in his life.
