This album was requested to review, but I have also heard about an upcoming album from Sky this year, which I am excited about! I thought this album was great overall; there are some truly beautiful pop rock songs on it that have such memorable instrumentals. I thought the overall production of the album was well done, as was the lyricism, although it is repeated too often for my liking. There were some parts of this album that felt out of place, like the track “I blame myself," ... read more
I will be honest: I liked this album a lot more than I thought I would. The 80s pop vibe with some French additions like the trumpet really blended well, and they created something trendy but inspired. The production is mostly polished and lush, and overall, Doja delivers some solid performances, especially when she raps (AAAHH MEN!! really shocked me). That being said, Jack Antonoff actually did a good job with this one!! The lyrics are creative, trendy, and catchy, and I enjoyed that she was ... read more
Charli XCX is back at it again from the revolutionary BRAT album, and she experiments with a movie soundtrack. I have not seen the movie, I must say, and I have heard a lot of controversy towards it and how the screenplay was produced. He tries to mix old R&B, sometimes rock, and modern-era pop, and it does not clash well. It is a pretty clear definition of refried nachos, and it's quite generic as a result. We see that the Sasha Fierce in him is there, as his ... read more
I don't even know what to truly think about this. After 4 years, Justin comes back as bland and boring as ever and brings nothing new to the table. The first third of the album was off to a decent start, and then it just went downhill from there. His lyrics are mostly so-so (some are just horrible and effortless, like I could have written some of them), and his production & sound are overused throughout; it all sounds similar, leading to there being nothing exciting or new except for ... read more
