OutKast - Aquemini
100

The finest Hip Hop album ever made. From start to finish its (dare I say?) Dopaliscious. It's worth a listen just for all the beautiful horns throughout.
Key Tracks: Return of the G, Slump, Spottieottiedopaliscious, Liberation
Hat tip to Cee-Lo

Radiohead - Kid A
100

I don't have much to say about this album that hasn't already been said. It's brilliant, Radiohead's finest moment, and the sum really is greater than its parts.
Key Tracks: Everything In It's Right Place, Kid A, The National Anthem, Idioteque
Hat tip to Nigel Godrich

LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver
100

Groovy as all bloody hell. One of the best albums the aughts has to offer.
Key tracks: Get Innocuous, North American Scum, All My Friends, Sound of Silver
Hat tip to James Murphy

Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues
100

This album blew me away upon first listen. Beautiful lyrics, and some of the best instrumentation I've ever heard. It's an album that makes me feel small, in a weird sort of comforting way.
Key Tracks: Montezuma, The Plain/ Bitter Dancer, Helplessness Blues, Lorelai
Hat tip to J. Tillman

The Beatles - Rubber Soul
100

Rubber Soul is the granddaddy of them all, and for my money the greatest album of all time. I shit you not, folks. It's flawless, the first great album from the Fab Four and an inspiration for countless others.
Key Tracks: Norweigian Wood, Michelle, Girl, In My Life
Hat tip to Brian Wilson

my bloody valentine - loveless
100

For me (and many others), this is the best album of the 90's. It's influence is staggering, you'd be hard pressed to find a great 90's guitar album that didn't take notes from the Loveless playbook.
Key tracks: Only Shallow, When You Sleep, Come In Alone, Soon
Hat tip to Kevin Shields

Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
100

My favorite album of all time. I remember buying this CD when it first came out and listening to this in the car four times in one night. I don't really know what else to say, just listen to this album one time all the way through. And then listen to it again.
Key Tracks: Radio Cure, Jesus Etc., I Am Trying To Break Your Heart, Reservations
Hat Tip to Reprise Records

Kanye West - Graduation
52

Ugh, man this was one disappointing project. The entire album feels juvenile and sounds like it's playing on the local hip hop radio channel. The lack of ambition is appalling considering West was coming off Late Registration. There's some catchy tracks but over all, Graduation is underwhelming as all hell.
Key Tracks: Flashing Lights, Good Morning, Stronger

Kanye West - Late Registration
86

Completely overindulgent, yet nuanced in some aspects. Horns and skits galore, at the end of this record you feel it's length, but also the ideas behind some great pop music. Thank you Jon Brion.
Key tracks: Heard Em Say, Drive Slow, Hey Mama, We Major, Gone

Kanye West - Yeezus
81

A decent follow-up to MBDTF, however this album is not as innovative as West's previous works. There are some great moments throughout such as the freak out on I Am A God and the stunning production of Hold My Liquor, but unfortunately it all comes to a halt with Blood On the Leaves and Guilt Trip and never fully recovers.
Key Tracks: On Sight, Black Skinhead, New Slaves, I'm In It, Bound 2
Hat tip to Hudson Mohawke

Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
100

A very engaging listen from start to finish, 70 minutes certainly goes by in a breeze . Lyrically, West is at his peak on this project, and the production is pretty damn innovative. One of those perfect little moments in pop music history.
Key tracks: Power, Goregeous, Devil In a New Dress, Runaway, Monster, Lost In The World
Hat Tip to Jon Anderson

Kanye West - 808s & Heartbreak
90

Really satisfying listen, just 45 minutes of great pop music. Great production all over this record and eye opening use of auto-tune. the only critique I have is that the two guest verses from Lil Wayne and Young Jeezy are pretty hard to stomach.
Key tracks: Say You Will, Heartless, Street Lights, Coldest Winter
Hat Tip to Mr. West
