a peak so few in recorded history have achieved; this album cemented Kendrick's place in my top two - and he ain't two. i find something new with every listen 10 years later.
quite simply the best album ever. whenever 'The Genesis' comes on shuffle i'm teleported to Queens '94 and immediately have to stop what i'm doing, or planned to do, and listen to the album from start to finish.
time should be separated into two periods: Before Illmatic and After Illmatic.
