100 gecs - 1000 gecs

Went into this completely expecting to hate it as a friend of mine said it was horrible previously, but I was very surprised and taken aback with this project, this being my first full hyperpop album, which I had judged as a garbage/mediocre-at-best genre from my few experiences with it.
I had a lot of fun with the creative and extremely unique sounds on this thing, some choruses are almost nostalgic of late 2000s internet songs if that makes any sense, and there were plenty of songs I was ... read more

Car Seat Headrest - 1

Yep, this is definitely a young will experimenting with his sound and it is probably one of the roughest and raw albums ive heard, ever.
Most tracks are sort of a bore, theres semblances of ideas here and there and if you focus enough you’ll recognize some ideas he used effectively later on in his discography. Really this is just a collection of jumbled and unorganized (in the most literal way possible) ideas, and on top of that its really cool to recognize some points of inspiration and ... read more

The Strokes - Room on Fire

An amazing follow up album from Is This It for the strokes, very solid and very fun alt rock record. I often put this on vinyl while im doing anything from cleaning to making art, and there isnt a song I want to skip.
The tracks Reptillia and Automatic Stop are super fun and easily among my favorite strokes tracks. I had the chorus of both repeating in my mind for weeks.

Prince and The Revolution - Purple Rain

I dont think ive ever heard something so sexy and danceable while also overflowing with emotion and with this much potential to make someone cry.
Prince crafts something so beautiful and fun here, easily a must listen.

My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade

Heard this about 2 years ago for the first time, was a major introduction into “real music” for me as all I used to listen to were videogame osts and niche mediocre stuff.
Not only does it hold that status for me, its also one of the most musically appealing for my ears to put it simply. Every guitar riff, every solo, every climax and chorus has been stuck in my head at some point, songs like Disenchanted, Mama, Sleep, and WTTBP still give me chills, and bring out so much emotion ... read more

JPEGMAFIA & Danny Brown - SCARING THE HOES
84

I was writing a full review for this thing but the damn page reloaded and erased all of it so ill keep it short:
Great experimental rap album. Production and energy is verything I wanted from peggy, but I feel danny didnt get as much contribution to this thing although most of his verses are very solid.
Favorite tracks: Scaring the hoes, Burfcit!, H.O.E
