Carson Clay - 18

Title track is his best song under Carson Clay, rest is mainly average emo rap with some cool production

Second half is really bad (besides Aubameyang that shit bangs) but overall this is a perfectly decent mixtape by a music anomaly that I don’t think I’ll revisit besides 3-4 tracks

릴보이 [LIlBOI] - Meantime

Korean artists try not to make the best song ever less than a minute challenge

Jokes aside this is a very chill album with a lot of nice genre blending and instrumentation, where lilboi offers good singing and great rapping, not a big fan of a lot of the features though.

As a Neo soul fan this is surprisingly my first Jill Scott record and I was pleasantly surprised, some very nice groovy production and incredible vocals, also liked the features. The first half was absolute gold

J. Cole - The Fall-Off

A satisfying closure to Cole’s career, my second favorite of his, and my (so far) album of the year. Love ya Cole

Swans - Soundtracks for the Blind

Some standout tracks, but overall I didn’t find this project very rewarding or interesting despite my usual liking towards swans

Don Toliver - OCTANE

Too lazy to do a track by track since it all blended together, hardstone was so good what is this slop

Koncept Jack$on - Hawaii

Maybe the most underrated project ever, production is absolutely insane here.

J. Cole - BIRTHDAY BLIZZARD '26

Cool collection of amazing rapping from Cole, 99 build is what I wanna see on the fall off.

My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge

My first review after returning to this account, so it’s fitting it’s for such a good album

Thoughts: pure 2000s emo goodness here, we see some very sharp and emotional instrumentals here to match Gerard Way’s incredible vocal talent, mixing both his heavier screaming side and his softer side on tracks to give real depth to the incredible songwriting he showcases (even if black parade is a bit better in that regard). I always found this to be their best work, and it’s ... read more
