Elio Toffana - GRAVITAS
77

Pretty decent Spanish hiphop album. Beats are tight and well built. Songs have enough variety to make it a fairly standout offering. Album tends to get better as it moves along. Good album for fans of modern or old school hiphop

Social Distortion - Born To Kill
65

Fairly low energy output from a fairly legendary band in the punk world. Well played and well produced but does not have the same tempo or high energy that normally characterizes the genre. Certainly not bad but not ground breaking either

appi - Red Comb
56

Reasonably produced rock album with a solid drum track but falls short in every other way. Music drones and feels unenthusiastic. Not a strong album but not irredeemable either.

Pigeon - OUTTANATIONAL
78

A cool space reggae funk type album. Overall a pretty original band and sound. Some really cool songs and some that are just ok. The album showcases some diversity in songs and earns a decent mark for doing so

Moon Walker - WASTELAND COUNTRY
75

Some great song writing and original style. The vocals are to fuzzy with effects and it drags the album down a little bit. I would call it a good rock and roll album. Interested to see the rest of their catalogue

Failure - Location Lost
65

A fairly directionless effort. Pretty standard alternative rock music. Good musicianship and very strong singing but not much for stand out material. An ok record.

Metric - Romanticize the Dive
65

A mostly boring rehash of the music they have made for the last couple decades. The production level is high. The songs are easy to listen to but there isn't much to sink your teeth into. Fans will appreciate it but new listeners will easily pass over it.

Oliver Tree - Love You Madly Hate You Badly
85

Album goes in a lot of directions which is greatly appreciated. Good production and song structure. Some loud some quiet and some in between. A very different album. Not for me but could be for you. Top marks here.

Softwilly - DONNA 2
82

A high energy rap album. Not my style as it is filled with auto tune but the song variety and 90s techno beats are original. The album bounces the whole way through. Great offering

vax - Blue Dawn
28

Absolutely brutal autotune rap album. Beats are unoriginal rhymes are boring. Very little redeeming about this album. Total fail

Friko - Something Worth Waiting For
70

A decent Indy rock offering. Sounds like a clean sonic youth crossed with Radiohead for a mid 90s feel. Not very experimental or groundbreaking but it is packaged well enough to get a decent grade

Noah Kahan - The Great Divide
60

Well done for what it is but offers nothing unique to the americana folk genre. It is a safe album but not one song stands out. An ok record but leaves you wanting more

The Builders and The Butchers - No Tomorrow
90

An absolute top rank americana folk rock record. Songs differ but maintain a strong central theme. Excellent musicianship and song writing. Production is good and the album is easy to get to the end of. One of the strongest offerings this year.

Forestella - THE LEGACY
65

A very professional ballad album. Cinematic with a top end production value. Feels like I am stuck in a foreign Disney film. Songs all sound the same despite the massive production values. It is well done for what it is but what it is is very boring.

Seum - Parking Life
72

A really decent sludgy fuzzy hardcore/metal album. The singing is bad bordering on brutal. The album is quite well done though so the singing doesn't ruin it by any means. Good offering.

Missing Wiba - Forever People
85

A very chill soft rock album. The kind of music you can lay in the grass on a sunny day and enjoy with a significant other. Beautiful production values and a very delicate drum section. Not what a go to for me but excellent work

JOATA - Qué Pasó
80

A pretty cool and original hard rock album. I don't fancy the singing very much but there is a nice variety of songs. With a bit of refining this artist could really make some different high energy music. Good album.

Sap - Erasure
50

A decent date I say grunge album. The band is good but somewhere Kurt Cobain is spinning in his skull-less grave. It is just too close to Nirvana for it to get a good rating no matter how well it is put together. A shame because I want to like it.

Benny the Butcher - ASHES IN THE $AFE
70

An ok EP. Very reminiscent of late 90s hiphop. Good production value and decent beats. Would like to see a more immersive experience as 25 minutes simply doesn't give enough.

Nekrogoblikon - The Boiling Sea
75

Very interesting metal album. Lots of compl x guitar and drums. The singing leaves a lot to be desired but it is made up for with great song structure and cool breakdowns. Good offering.
