Em Beihold is unquestionably by favourite artist and has been since at least early 2024, so I had high expectations when she announced the album. After some time sitting on it, I can say she didn't disappoint at all. I loved the singles, especially Scared of the Dark, and this album captures the best of them in such a pleasant way. My favourite album. I'm a sucker for piano pop and this is just the best version of it I've ever heard. Machine Gun in particular is my favourite song outright, lyrically strong, melodically strong, instrumentally strong, vocally strong, the full package. You know what you're getting with Sara Bareilles, but it's almost always good anyways. Other highlights include Uncharted, Gonna Get Over You and The Light.
