The 33-year old Californian guitarist-producer's latest effort is a hushed affair, with slow unravel of carefully structured, contemplative orchestration atop his distinctly somber croon reminiscent of Arthur Russell or Elliott Smith, with its own, distinctive flair. One of the most intimate records I've heard this year and done so well.
