I expected nothing from mgk but Fred man people were just starting to like you again
Holy shit what a comeback from a band that’s been on a downward path for a good while now
Fafara's highs sound awesome in this. it's a shame he sounds like shit when he's not doing that. This is a funky little album dragged down by a terrible second half and some strange choices, like the incredibly weak chorus on "Bradleeeyyyyy"
beabadoobee leaves notorious chud rick rubin and drops the best song of her career immediately after
Cologne is the best song she's ever made and is evidence that she should be focusing on her rock/noise pop songs rather than the twee, occasionally minimalist tracks that TIHTM was filled with.
however the dream pop tracks here are pretty good too, last day on earth has nonsense lyrics but it's incredibly catchy so I don't mind, and he gets me so high is also a great little jangly track. probably her most consistent release
