† is an impressive album in its own right, and once you learn it was made with GarageBand it becomes a total marvel. It’s got a scintillating sound palette- combining a groovy, deeply stylised mix of influences ranging from French house to hard rock and a lot in between- and the way it balances light and dark- with the brilliant disco highs of “D.A.N.C.E” or “DVNO” with loud, abrasive electro house like “Waters Of Nazareth”- is a sight to behold. This album is a nonstop party (although ironically the actual song The Party, or rather “Tthhee Ppaarrttyy” is the album’s clear weakest link but that’s only really thanks to Uffie’s baffling vocal performance), one you’d be hard pressed not to enjoy even a little bit.
