With the devastating passing of Diogo Jota and Andre Silva, it has been a very quiet and sad couple of days for me and my family. We are all very passionate Liverpool supporters, and the shock of such a tragic death of two amazing men left us really hurt. Jota is one of my personal favourite Liverpool players, I had a fanpage for him before I started making music videos, and I have so many memories of singing his chant with my family and watching him play at Anfield, banging in goals always with a smile on his face. I’ve needed some relaxing music like this to put me into another world, I’ve been listening to a lot of Slushwave recently and honestly it’s taken my mind off his passing a lot. I just wanted to start this review by saying that all my thoughts and prayers go out to Diogo and Andre’s family, friends, teammates and anyone else affected by this tragic incident.
Onto the album, this one is amazing, it’s very droney compared to other telepath albums which for me makes it sound more dreamlike and nostalgic. The waning drone that goes through this entire track feels very heavy and invokes a very strong feeling of longing nostalgia. The reverb on this song feels like it washes over you, it feels like a wave of twinkling, vivid colours covering you. Overall, this is one of my favourite releases in the very large telepath discography, one that is quite overlooked and one of his dreamiest albums yet. This album is a strong example of why I adore slushwave so much, it just takes me to another planet, it’s soundscape disconnects me from my problems which is sometimes all you need from music.
