CHANCE デラソウル - All Together Now
100

“All Together Now” is not just an album, it’s a vibrant and warm eruption of samples brought to life by Chance De La Soul, made to comfort, to bring the listener to joy, and to put a smile on their face.

This album cracks my top5 right now because of how damn happy it makes me feel. It’s like an overflowing joy, I couldn’t recommend this enough.

仮想夢プラザ [Virtual Dream Plaza] - 吸収 [Absorption]

I love the first song on this album, while not being one of his deeper cuts by any means, the song succeeds at creating a dreamy atmosphere and a soundscape that can disconnect the listener from reality, with its base layer of floaty ambient accompanied by twinkling synths and a hypnotic wave of drone. The song feels like entering a brand new world, full of purple, glowing cities and a dark night sky lit up by vivid stars.
I’m honestly a big fan of it, because even if it is a very basic ... read more

hollowtiphero - Yung Hollow
85

Hollowtiphero’s debut studio album is one that already takes him into the conversation for best underground rapper, his flow and lyrics are incredible, the beats on here are mostly fire, and honestly this album is full of energy. The only blip in the album is Balmain, which I didn’t like too much. But I could definitely see this guy becoming mainstream one day.

Desired - Nineteen
30

Going from making the most refreshing, energetic future funk to making bland, uninteresting lo-fi was definitely a bad decision for Desired. Unfortunately he thinks chucking in a couple random rap samples will charm the listener. It doesn’t, this whole album was not thought out well at all, he just went on a lofi girl playlist and tried to replicate it.

Gucci Mane - So Icey Boy 2

boring as a whole album but theres bangers everywhere

Three 6 Mafia - Underground Vol. 1 (1991-1994)

would be t10 oat if sucks on dick didn’t exist. fuck that song.

Speaker Knockerz - Married to the Money
85

rip sk, could’ve been as good as thug or future if he wouldn’t have tragically passed so early

Afghan Dan - Tic Tac Business
100

an absolute relic

Cocteau Twins - Garlands
60

not a bad debut, but it’s clear to see that they are finding their style in the process of making this album. it’s decent but the vocals don’t fit the instrumentals, the instrumentals lack depth and it just feels too empty compared to their next album “Head Over Heels”. But of course, it’s their debut so I’m not too mad at this, it’s a good effort.

You'll Never Get to Heaven - You'll Never Get to Heaven
85

a very soft and floaty project that mixes beautiful ambience and lush vocals to create an experience that is ethereal, cloudy and comforting

BAKGROUND - Memory Card
85

Reminds me of the days you had to take it in turns on the console with your siblings, just when everything seemed simpler. This album seems like youre in a virtual reality in the early 2010s, seriously it’s so cool, like imagine playing a game like Stray to this album. Sure it’s repetitive, but with a soundscape so hazy and dreamy, it’s definitely passable.

OutKast - Aquemini
95

I adore “Aquemini” for its ability to blend Conscious Rap, Neo-Soul, Funk, Hardcore Hiphop and other elements done amazingly by the notorious duo to create an experience that is mesmerising, groovy and spacey. Every song on here is eye-opening and different, it is truly an innovative and unique album worthy of being cherished as a true classic.

Favourites: (in no order)
Return Of The G, Rosa Parks, Aquemini, Synthesizer, West Savannah, DAOST pt1, SpottieOttieDopaliscious

Bladee - Eversince
95

Theres so many features that make Eversince a truly incredible album. It’s emotional and personal value portrayed through its snow-dazed, cryptic production, waning and unorthodox vocal style and lyrics filled with raw emotion are all factors that make Eversince a truly personal and amazing album, showcasing the emotional vulnerability of Bladee perfectly.

Britney Spears - Blackout
90

“Sex anthems” in pop, by now, are usually awful considering artists like Kim Petras and others have took that route but I have a lot of respect for Blackout at succeeding to create something different for the time and very influential to the modern scene. Every song here is amazing and I don’t see a song ruined by the underlying feature of sex or whatever, Britney does this style of pop perfectly, such a charming and amazing album :)

Bathory - Under the Sign of the Black Mark
95

Incredible release. Still doesnt sound too polished and rough around the edges in some aspects but honestly, that’s what I love about Bathory’s music. The unorthodox, raw and dark riffs, vocals that just seem to be inaudible, but occult and crazy, it’s just all so cool.

Top3:
Equimanthorn 🥇
Chariots of Fire 🥈
Enter the Eternal Fire 🥉

P.S. I bought the vinyl after one listen that’s how good it is 😍

A$AP Rocky - LONG.LIVE.A$AP
90

Despite taking a more commercial route after his influential tape “Live.Love.A$AP”, Rocky strikes the perfect balance on fresh and exciting quality and accessibility on this album, it’s just banger after banger and just a very very fun listen. Only complaint I have is that some songs have empty points, and the album slows down in some areas but this is a truly amazing album, and a classic.

xaviersobased - keep it goin xav
65

not as crazy as his other albums but this is one of my favourites from xav as its just a very fun and effective plugg/jerk album, im usually not a fan of plugg/jerk but i think this album is fantastic.
