i initially wasnt fully sold on this new direction, but it gets better and better every listen. honestly, i could see myself spamming tf out of this single for months
shouldve been called DISAPPOINTMENT
Listen, regardless of the Heavy amounts of discussions/hatred this album is receiving, it is still Good. It has high quality production that is, like the title indicates, very experimental. His bars and flows are very same-y, which is unusually lackluster for Peggy, but in all honesty, they are put in the background for 80% of this album. I feel like the focus is much more on the production, which is being overshadowed by brainless hating comments from ... read more
track 7 is one of the best songs ever made and im not changing my mind
a very strong, emotional listen.
an absolute banger album from start to finish!! ive been listening to this for about a month now, and this is quite a fun and addicting listen. at just 27 minutes, the short run time of this glitch pop/hyperpop album makes this have infinite replay value.
i also think this album is very aptly named. these songs feel like little blips of ideas sometimes, little trinkets of songs.
couldnt recommend this more if you like edm-adjacent pop music!!
Vive Le Québec Libre.
That's all you need to know. This is the most French Canadian, most Québécois music you will hear this year.
Immediately confusing, shocking, and eclectic music. A viscerally striking visual. This is all because in Québec, we must express ourselves. We are surrounded with English culture, whether it comes from America, Britain, Canada, or from wherever else, and we feel the need to fight back with our art, our language, our expressions. ... read more
hard for me to dislike an underscores album, especially since i started listening to her in early 2023, and this new release reinforces what ive been thinking and saying for a while now: underscores is one of the best hyperpop producers of all time.
this pop-adjacent direction is what i kind of expected from the singles, but April is so skilled at mixing classic genre traditions while keeping her signature production style. with super catchy hooks, great lyrics, somewhat minimalist but still ... read more
Very solid production for most tracks. Denzel, Tia & Ferg always snap on their verses (and Denzel's hooks are always so catchy). The plethora of features was cool, they all fit well into their respective tracks.
I will say that a lot of the time it felt like they were playing it safe and just repeating a known formula instead of experimenting and trying to break the boundaries a little bit. Very hype music tho.
wtf is the instrumental on HOOPTY that shit is very odd
My first album of 2026, and there's a high chance it stays in the #1 spot of my list for this year.
My Ghosts Go Ghost is the newest album from what is left of Injury Reverse, the duo By Storm featuring rapper Nathaniel Ritchie and producer Parker Corey. In Injury Reserve's last release "By The Time I Get To Phoenix", the vocals from Stepa J. Groggs, who had unfortunately passed away by the time of the album's release, were a haunting reminder of how even in a timeless ... read more
Listened to this today, as I felt like this was one of those albums you just can't skip out on before the end of the year, and holy shit did ROSALÍA prove me right!!!
Absolutely qualifies as some of the most ethereal and spiritual music I've ever heard. The maximalist use of orchestral vocals and classical instrumentation adds a religious feeling to this experience that I, as an non-believer, realized I was missing in my life.
ROSALÍA embodies an angel stuck in ... read more
Irish singer-songwriter Dove Ellis comes in at the tail-end of the year, past the release of most year end lists, giving a compelling argument for moving this yearly press release to January to include records like this one that too often fly under the radar.
His debut LP "Blizzard" is equally thrilling as it is calm and subdued. Ellis finds a comfortable spot vocally in all of these songs, regardless of the slight genre switch-ups throughout the tracklist, a notably difficult task ... read more
This is what I've been waiting for. redveil A.K.A. Marcus Morton fully finds himself in this album, and I couldn't be happier.
Most people know of this dude through his 2022 album "learn 2 swim", a very fun and lighthearted rap album that made a splash on the internet rap scene, pretty quickly finding itself in everyone's top 11-20 (maybe even top 10) albums for that year. But that's the thing with redveil's last album; it was good, sure, but it still felt ... read more
Ever since hearing the singles from this project that released over a year ago, I've been praying for this to drop even though Jane said that they wouldn't drop it many times. So glad to finally hear this EP!
Because of Revengeseekerz having many samples from Jane's music, both public and unreleased, it was fun to finally hear the origins of many samples throughout the tracklist here, especially So What? having some of my favorite sampled bits from Revengeseekerz; it also helps ... read more
i genuinely like this song and have listened to it on repeat for hours at my job. geese is unbelievable
really sick album! Danny approaches sobriety with a fighting spirit, dancing throughout to celebrate such a monumental achievement with all of his queer producer buddies. love the vibes of this one!!
thanks @Slijee for putting me on this album and taking part in my first listen!!
very very creative for a rage album. the underground rage scene is cooking up some new wave bangers and im starting to really see the value of it all. very energetic and melodic which i always appreciate in hip-hop & especially rage. need more of this kind of music in my life frfr.
Geese. What can I fucking say about Geese that hasn't already been said? This band is quickly shaping up to be a modern classic, and this album proves it to me. The drums go absolutely ballistic in almost every song, the guitar riffs and tones are tastefully chosen and performed, curating the perfect backdrop of instrumentation for the album as a whole. And Cameron Winter, man what a fucking powerhouse of a performer. Every single time he sings, it feels incredibly authentic to his person, ... read more
Cameron Winter definitely writes songs, and he most definitely sings them as well. Ouch, man. You made me feel a lot of things this evening, Mr. Winter. Thanks bud.
this is the best redveil has ever been, truly finding his stride in more experimental production that goes outside of his previous projects with genre-bending soundscapes and vocals without a defining direction that portray his raw emotions more clearly. excited for whatever he's got up his sleeve next time!
