Ah, Semetary... I'm not very experienced with the sound of him and the rest of Haunted Mound, to be honest. I liked what Turnabout was releasing and I actually enjoyed Butcher House a considerable amount, which is why I was excited for this to be released. Strangled, which has now been split into bands PeelingFlesh and Orphan, has always had such a vocal presence on songs that is undeniable. While Orphan is some of my favorite metal ever, and I'm fine with PeelingFlesh, I never gave Strangled a listen. The hook is beautiful. Flashes of mid-2010's Architects with some pretty great production. Guitars could be more unique, and im not the biggest fan of the chorus, but this is a massive improvement over Seeing Red.
It seems like a lot of people don't favor this over Blinding Faith, so I guess I have to be the contrarian. While I loved Blinding Faith, I did think it had some gimmicky parts that I didn't enjoy. This, on the other hand, is such an interesting experimentation from Knocked Loose that I can't help but adore it. This album will probably be my AOTY when it comes out.
Someone remind me to review this. I've listened to it before, but i need to get my thoughts together for a relisten.
